dropped 16 in the 1st half against Kansas State. Maybe we aren't the only team that can't stop that guy

K-State currently up 41-39

Yeah he scored 36 against Mizzou and 33 against Texas, who has a really solid defense. Kid has shown he can be a big time scorer.

How did everyone in the midwest miss out on this kid. Looking at his recruiting profile we did not recruit him even though he is a state south of us. Missouri did not recruit him. Basically Colorado, Kansas State, Drake, Missouri State, Stana Clara, and Wichita State were the only ones recruiting him. He was the Missouri player of the year in 2009. Not like he was an unknown.

Burks is only 1-3 and 2 points in the 2nd half thus far w/ Pullen guarding him... Still 12 minutes left for him to make the difference again.

Although now that they have stopped Burks, Higgens is lighting them up with 8 straight points...

He grew about 4 inches after he committed to CU.

Burks is going to be a solid NBA player. Can score at will. He's just up a notch compared to most of the other guys in the conference.

That's not true. He is reported as 6-5 in most articles about him in high school. He's listed as 6-6 now. Colorado and KState offered. The rest of the Big 12 --- and that has to include ISU --- missed the boat.

I'm just going off of what the announcers said during our game with them on Wednesday that he was a late bloomer and was under recruited because of it.

Well Colorado saw the promise of him. I think he would still be good 3 inches shorter. Wonder if he had a growth spurt after he commited to CU. That could be possible.

A couple points:
1. Living in Colorado, I've heard the story several times about Burks having a major growth spurt after visiting CU prior to his senior season.
2. In ISU's media guide back in the day, I was listed as 6'3, and anyone that knows me will tell you I'm barely 6'1".

Just saying.

Google = your friend.

Go back and find stories about Burks in high school. Most say 6-5. The stories from when he committed to CU say 6-5.

Colorado lists him at 6-6. Yes, colleges fudge on heights and weights. But they don't fudge DOWN. If he's really 6-8, they aren't going to list him as 6-6. Your personal anecdotes are fascinating, but irrelevant.

High schools fudge on heights too, so maybe everyone knew that he wasn't 6-5 in high school. Could be...
