If you are into hiking, kayaking and some spectacular views, I would highly recommend stopping by Devil's Lake near Baraboo.
The camping is downright cool. The water can be clear down to 15 feet down. One of the nicest lakes in America.

Great suggestion, absolutely beautiful park. And if you want to completely creep yourself out, you should check out the Circus World Museum in Baraboo as well. Preferably in the off season when nobody else is there.

If you are traveling to the Dells through Dubuque on highway 151 go north at Dodgeville and stop at The House on the Rock. It is amazing. Its a house that takes you through different themed rooms and areas of the house. It has the worlds largest carousel and many other interesting stuff.

House on the Rock - Tickets and Tours

Got to agree with this as well. One of the last trips I took with my ex (who was from Wisc) included a trip through the House on the Rock. It's pretty amazing how that house seems to go on and on forever. It's pretty much the only thing I remember from that trip.

The wife and I went last July and had a good time. Did Noah's Ark, Big Foot Zip Line tours, and the Wild Thing Jet Boat ride along with a few other things, but those were the main attractions.

The Zip line tour was pretty sweet, hike around to 5 different zip lines. They test you a lil more each time with doing something different off the zip line and give you some free rain to make it as wild as you want. Really enjoyed that. The Jet Boat was pretty cool too as you got some tours, but then they open up the jet boat and whip around etc. Expect to get wet. Noahs Ark is cool, but you have to get around a bunch of lil kids and wait in huge lines for about every ride, but there are some sweet attractions there to keep you busy. I recommend the Scorpion's Tail :)

Zip Line and Jet Boat are the same facility. One stop shop, call in and schedule them at the same time, literally went there and didn't have to leave for the most part.

Go through Dubuque on way up to see the House on the Rock. Allow 3-4 hours. Check in at the Dells. Go home through Minnesota.

That jet board ride looks awesome! Not sure I could get my wife to do the zip line thing though!

Just got back, and we had a blast. Planned on going on the jet boat this morning on the way out, but rain was moving in, so we missed that.

Loved the hotel and hardly left. Did the zip lines with my boy and that was a good time. Loved the wave pool. With six water parks, we only made it to each about once, and the wave pool was our favorite.

The Hurricane was the best water slide. Shoots your raft into a big funnel, and the first time you do it and climb way up the side, there's a moment there where you're pretty sure you're just going to fall. I looked at my wife as we came back down, and there was no question she wasn't going to ride it again.

Overall a great trip, though we had some nimrods in the next room who were whooping it up late into the night each night.

We just got back this weekend. 3rd trip to the Wilderness so most of the stuff there is pretty known. The oldest boy is starting to out grow it though so I'm thinking the next trip is going to get a lot more expensive since so far we basically never leave The Wilderness.

This year I did have an interesting new experience getting really drunk at Nig's.
