Looks like Houston still has it in their heads that they are in consideration for Big 12, and apparently the Big East too? (Link is for the scout site, subscription required)

Houston was a name coming up for the big east quite a bit before this new stuff with the big 12 started. Pair for TCU.

No one gave A&M walking papers tonight. A&M will be the one to give the Big XII their own walking papers.

And you don't fly somewhere just to hand someone a piece of paper. Welcome to 2011.

In the same vein, Missouri and Oklahoma don't need to fly to A&M to join the SEC either.

I have no idea what was going on, but I kind of highly doubt that Oklahoma and Missouri have some sort of alliance. I wouldn't be shocked if both were looking at their options, but I would be shocked if they were pairing up to make it happen.

I would hope that hte remaining 9 would wait around to see if we could land Pitt, ND, and BYU. If we don't they can go to the SEC then.

Still, I imagine ATM announcing their intent to leave the conference officially would necessitate an official signature or two among conference officials. This was going to happen by tomorrow, since it is game week in the Big 12 as of midnight tonight and any legal pretense of getting around the "late leaving" penalty probably cannot be avoided by that point.

Endgame approaches. Whatever it is, thank goodness this is almost over.

If Pitt leaves the Big East, they'd be looking for someone fast.

Just popped up on the Houston boards and also saw it on the LSU boards, so take it for what its worth.

SEC is considering inviting TAMU, Oklahoma, Mizzou and Houston. Apparently the play here is that long-term the SEC can at least split Texas or better even without UT, by having TAMU, OK and Houston (the third biggest public school in the state)!!

This gets OK on board (they need Texas recruiting) and heads off the SEC biggest fear of a PAC16 with both Cali and Texas locked down.

Texags poster has pointed out that Chairman of the Big 12 board is from Mizzou and the Secratary is from Oklahoma and that per Big 12 bylaws, the Secratary has to be present to give the walking papers. It's walking papers. That makes the most sense.

That is too logical to be the real reason. Surely they were meeting to sign the papers to kick us out.

Paperwork of this magnitude will be delivered sometimes things just have to happen the older fashioned way.
