I would like to have the University of South Florida join the Big 12

  • The school serves over 47,000 students
  • Is a research university
  • Would give the Big 12 a footprint in Texas and Florida

The more I think about it South Florida would be a good add. A help in recruiting and Tampa is a fun place to visit.

I know independence isn't an easy thing to jump into but here's BYU's home schedules the next 2 years

2011 - San Jose State, Idaho, Idaho State, UCF, Utah, Utah State, New Mexico St.
2012 - Weber State, Utah State, Oregon State, Idaho, Hawaii

Wow, if I was a BYU fan that would make me want to run out and buy season tickets. Joining the Big 12 would not only increase their TV revenue but also bolster their schedule. They could keep the Utah game non conference and have the Big 12 bowl tie-ins. I can't see why they'd want to stay independent
You can get rid of the Oregon State game...they cancelled it and are bringing in a scrub team.

From what I am hearing, BYU and Pitt are the ones being most heavily pursued and they are both trying to talk ND into joining them.

That would be a perfect scenario. I give it a 1% chance based on the fact that it would be to good to be true.

BYU should really think hard before turning down a Big 12 invite. If the Pac 10 wanted them, they'd already be in. It's Big 12 or nothing.

Tech would actually leave for the PAC without Texas? If so, it would be a power play by the PAC to force Texas to join. That seems like a big risk. What if Texas decides to go indy?

Well, if OU decided to break away the sheet will fly and they may just do that. Who they "take" with them won't even matter.

Pretty sure we didn't care what the PAC 12 was doing until a year ago and its not a PAC 12 insider.... Believe or not I'm just the messenger, figured someone will confirm.... Boomer???

I doubt we see any kind of Pac move unless the Big 12 doesn't find a replacement.

That spot in the Pac will be waiting OU and friends should things go south. The Pac won't expand without Big 12 teams, period.

If it's a year from now and the Big 12 hasn't expanded, yeah, I'll buy it. Waaaaaay too soon for that kind of move when they'll always have it in their back pocket. OU and Texas want the Big 12 to work. If the Big 12 can't rebuild, then they'll bail.
