So if it does come to pass that TU, TT, OU and OSU go to the Pac12 and the race to 4 Super Conferences begins (which I think would be utterly stupid BTW) I think the Big East will be next in a race to get to 16 to survive as the forth super conference. By taking the B12 northern four thats a nice start to get to 13 (with tcu). Now if the SEC moves on the ACC and the B1G poaches a couple current big east teams the big east can come back and grab the remains of the ACC.

Now if this did come to pass and leads to a playoff system the BCS is obviously kaput and the northern four would be in a pretty balanced league with an equal shot to the playoffs as the big three conferences. Maybe not so bad eh?

Definitely case of musical chairs. Could be some ACC schools could get caught up in this mess just when they thought they were safe. Western schools also scrooged. BYU I'm looking at you.

So this is officially scenario #524. Of course it will turn out that they take Baylor instead of us so were screwed again. Damn!

I get so sick of Boomer's (Landthieves) tweets/comments relishing over the possible demise of the Big12 and the forgotten five going CUSA. I had to bite the bullet and stop following that ***.
He's cool when talking football/recruiting, but he was a doucher when realignment came up. Pretty similar to the Big 12 in that sense.

I know exactly how JP and GG operate. To say that their silence during coaching searches equates to their actions during conference realignment is ********.

And I have not once mentioned the ESPN article. I haven't even read it. I don't have a hardon for the conference failing. I have an understanding of what's happened in the past and what is happening right now.

Go search out that mason jar and take a swig.

Why would they operate one way when looking for a coach but act completely different when securing our future? Keeping things quite is the right way to operate. Look how much crap mizzou, ou, a&m, and texas have been getting. Keep it quiet until the deal is done.

Our athletic success depends on us landing in AQ conference. Therefore his job depends on it. Do you really think he is too busy playing call of duty to try to protect all of the things he has worked so hard to get?

Big east: Money will be much less in the future compared to sec, b1G, PAC. Most good teams will be picked. Won't be any more stable than bigxii until the greed era has run it's course and all good teams picked through for the big 4 conferences. Recruiting for football will be VERY difficult. We REALLY need bigxii to stay together.

JP and GG are taking the exact same stance as last year. So how is this any different?

BTW, you do realize aggie in my username has nothing to do with A&M?

Your username has as much to do with A&M as mine does with being a hawkeye, but you had no problem calling me one because I'm not pumping sunshine about the future of ISU or the Big 12.

You are correct that JP and GG are taking the exact same stance. That means nothing about what role they have in any of this. Are they working in ISU's best interest? Of course they are. How much does that matter if we don't get asked to join in by the "haves"? Not much.

Conference realignment last year involved more dirty pool than you could imagine. Honestly we could get lucky as a result of this, but who knows.

Where they love the governor
OK, so I have a question. Maybe it's been answered, maybe not. Why would OU/OSU/etc want to join the PAC-Whatever in terms of BCS bowl access? Is there some way that the PAC would end up with 2 BCS bids? I'm not seeing how this makes sense. If the PAC went to 16, you basically have 2 conferences fighting for 1 BCS bid.

I agree completely. To be honest, I dont care if he actually is playing Call of Duty. All that matters is results. From my vantage point, the ISU Athletic Dept. is in the best shape it has ever been in. Pollard is directly responsible for that. He has given me no reason to doubt him. I have complete confidence in his ability to lead Iowa State Athletics.

I think most people agree with you. But we can do worse than the big east.
