I think we will be fine. Living out of state, we are not looked down upon nearly as bad as people make it out to be. We are more looked down in our own state and drug through the mud by our local media than out of state.

That doesn't mean Syracuse wants to be playing games in Ames, but still, I don't think people realize how far ahead we are as far as attendance, facilities, etc than the MTN and CUSA teams. We just don't fit there very well and really we are ahead of a lot of BCS schools in many ways.

If we land big east football will be competitive and bball will flourish. We would not be just a bball school.

Isnt that espn's job to spin **** and have u tune into their program? It is all about TV sets, but that may change you cannot punish a university for not being in a highly populated state and making them drop out of AQ status to a lesser conference. How can that happen?
The conference you are currently in disappears. The only conference that may even consider you has their best teams with the most TV's poached by other conferences. Remaining teams don't want to travel 1,000 miles to a northern climate to a school that adds no value to a TV contract.

Serious question...does anyone know GG's status right now? Is he still actively involved with all of this? The timing of his retirement could not have been worse for ISU.

I think we'll be OK, too. Sure, having a conference named the Big East reaching into Iowa and Kansas is a little strange, but we'll end up OK even in the worst case there.
With half the athletic money that the Big 12 would have had. The minor sports like golf will take a huge hit since Iowa lesgislature does not want to support much. This is a big moment in ISU sports. Hawks will laugh everytime they play us. We may have to quit playing them,. The Cy Hawk trophy remake might go for nanught.

We'll also take a nice paycut.

Not as bad as falling completely out of the BCS, but still not a good thing.

If the finances were equal id say go tomorrow.

Why does everyone forget we offer 3 million viewers.

Good point about the minor sports. That's a big hit.

The "Hawks laughing" thing sounds like their normal response. That's their game.

That's not a given. No we won't make what we are projected to make next year, but we could make what we currently do when new Big East contract is up for renewal.

Well you seem to know nothing about how JP and the AD operates. Not to mention your hardon for the conference failing based on a very poorly written ESPN article.

I know exactly how JP and GG operate. To say that their silence during coaching searches equates to their actions during conference realignment is ********.

And I have not once mentioned the ESPN article. I haven't even read it. I don't have a hardon for the conference failing. I have an understanding of what's happened in the past and what is happening right now.

Go search out that mason jar and take a swig.

I get so sick of Boomer's (Landthieves) tweets/comments relishing over the possible demise of the Big12 and the forgotten five going CUSA. I had to bite the bullet and stop following that ***.

JP and GG are taking the exact same stance as last year. So how is this any different?

BTW, you do realize aggie in my username has nothing to do with A&M?
