By far the most disappointing position group tonight in my opinion. They were just horrible...I sit beside a former ISU offensive linemen and he was astonished by how bad they were.

Two starters out, 1 injury and 1 suspension, need to improve 100% to win any meaningful games this year, if two starters returning gets you 40% still need a lot of improvement in the other sixty

Only excuse I heard on the call-in show and postgame show tonight was KO was injured, and they're starting with a new center (and that showed as he got beat badly a couple of times). A few false starts but no holding calls that I remember. That being said, I hope they get a lot better than this before next week. A LOT BETTER! Can't have free rushers coming up the middle, or Steele under pressure in no time against a 3-man rush.

Terrible and any other synonym you can throw in. Coaching staff obviously has no faith in them if the QB lines up in the shotgun when the ball is on the goal line!

Herman is going to have us run out of the shot gun on the goal line no matter what. It's what he likes. Shot gun 100% of the time.

I understand the suspension deal plus KO being dinged up but after hearing all spring and camp that this would be one of the best position groups and be very deep I couldn't believe how bad they looked. We couldn't dig in and get a yard against UN freakin I...embarrassing.

1. Zero push at point of contact
2. Poor communication, allowed a 3 man rush to disrupt the QB
3. Interior lineman could not hold blocks in either run or passing situations.
4. Outside lineman allowed speed rushers to break the pocket.

CPR said before the season this was the best O-line they've had. I understand that KO was out most of the game and our road paver Hicks didn't play. Still doesn't excuse the horrible play by the rest of them.

Very poor play, but the staff is high on them, so the jury will be out for at least a couple more games.

...was god ******* awful. Jantz had no protection and the running backs had to make their own holes because there was nothing there.

I can't actually decide which line was worse. The defensive line is absolutely brutal with keeping contain. The offensive line was trying to get Jantz killed.

Not having Hicks is a gigantic loss. People just keep underestimating how big of a loss it is when you lose a guy like that. Same thing they did when Reggies Stephens didn't play against A and M two years ago and was probably 50% agasint OSU the following week. You just can't replace guys like that.

HH is a dominant lineman and no one talks about the guy.

Awful. I'm never negative, but the Oline was awful. If you had asked me how bad they could possibly be I would have said, "Oh, they could be pretty bad" and this would have flown past what I thought. By far the most dreadful Oline performance we have had in recent memory. I realize UNI is a good 1-AA school. I had this discussion with someone who is a Hawk fan. He said losing to them wouldn't be a shock and really wouldn't be that bad for ISU. That's ********. UNI, at their best should never beat us or come close. I don't care how good they are. I am glad we won, don't get me wrong, but had we lost I probably would have melted down on this very board. I have likely never have been so disappointed in this program as I was for 3 quarters tonight. My hope is that this is a wake up call that they need to get their **** together. I don't just mean the Oline either. That's everyone excluding Knott. He's still Jake Knott.

Colorado game last year was 10x worse. We only gave up 1 TFL. Alot of that is Jantz, Woody, and Shontrelle being bad ***** to get back to TOS, but I've seen worse. Definitely need to improve.
