Dan Beebe is the commissioner of the conference. How is the conference falling apart not his fault? His job is to further the interests of the conference. Clearly, he has failed at that.
Name someone not named Larry Scott, Jim Delaney, Mike Slive , or any other person currently holding the office of being a commissioner of a BCS AQ conference who has the education, experience, talent, and moxie of being Commissioner of the Big 12 conference. Give me just one name the meets the above criteria, then I'll join you in your call to replace Beebe, but not before.

This is starting to feel like presidential election night on NBC where they have their whiteboards out and are constantly trying to figure out scenarios where candidate X can pull out a victory or how candidate Y can lock it up.

OU is prepared to walk to the Pac with some combo of OSU +2 of either Tech/KU/MU

Texas isn't willing to change their network & they really could walk to the ACC because the ACC doesn't care

RRS could be a OOC affair again

this is all from OU Rivals

Could you tell them to make it OU, OSU, KU, and ISU?

K? THX! BYE!

FYI most Jayhawk fans (at least the insiders on the fan forums) feel if they have to go to the Big East they don't want KSU to follow them. Would rather have ISU instead.
Is the KU/ISU rivalry better than the KU/KSU rivalry? I'm sure the folks on this board will say the former is way better than the latter. Do the folks in Lawrence, KS agree?

So...

OU/OSU/KU/Tech to Pac-16
Mizzou/TAMU to SEC
Texas to ACC
ISU/Baylor/KSU to Big East?

Is that where we are now?

Have to assume SEC would poach 2 ACC schools to get to 16... ACC would respond with poaching 5 Big East schools to get to 16... Big East would then be at 7 and pick up 5-9 mid-majors to refill?

Houston
East Carolina
Central Florida
SMU
...Who else? Northern Illinois? Troy?

And this is assuming Big Ten does not expand at all. Not looking good for Big East in this scenario.

HOWEVER, if the Big Ten does expand and gets into the game late, perhaps their top targets would already be comfortably situated in a super-ACC... leaving them little choice but to pick up the Iowa State Cyclones.

:jimlad:... or am I?

Forgot to add K-State to the left behind trifecta. I'm one of the people who isn't convinced the SEC does anything past 14. I still don't think the B1G moves either.

I think a lot of Jayhawk fans don't want in the Big East because we think it's the next conference to fall. I would have loved to stay in the Big 12 and have mizzou as our rival but that isn't looking like it's going to last.

Hope that Mizzou goes to SEC and KU goes to PAC. That eliminates 2 AAU schools that the Big 10 can add.

Assuming the ACC and SEC schools say no to the Big 10 that leaves ND, Pitt, Rutgers, and ISU as available options.

This is all pretty depressing as a college football fan. When all is said and done, KSU might be our only remaining fellow conference member from the Big 8.

And who knows if that will even happen.

Iowa offers 3 million more people than adding a second Kansas team so there could be a slight financial gain.

Time to get a tractor trophy made for the game and PLEASE have it done by someone besides the person who made the Cy-Hawk.

Speaking of the Cy-Hawk trophy, could we give it OU/UT as a parting gift?

Re: Texas talking to ACC?...

They need to rename the big thread as the official realignment thread.

Make sure they use stars, otherwise people might get confused.

Example: ***The OFFICIAL Realignment Thread***
