Re: Texas talking to ACC?...

Is it really that hard to keep the conference re-alignment stuff to one thread? Maybe the thread where that link was posted several hours ago...

Maybe you could go through the 7300 posts and list the pages that contain new information?

*** The Pac-12 presidents and chancellors do not want to expand. Their strong preference is for Texas A&M-to-the-SEC to implode and for the Big 12 to remain viable — essentially, they want the status quo for as long as they can get it.
Why? Because they have everything they want.

:swoon::swoon::swoon::swoon::swoon::swoon:

Larry Scott the Terminator has been called back to headquarters.

It's all about Nov. 1, 2012.
That's the date the Big East Conference becomes a TV free agent. The league's goal is to be able to present such a solid, far-reaching and valuable product that it lands a deal in the neighborhood of the $4 billion package recently signed by the Pac-12.
Does this mean the Bevo and the Boomer Sooner than later wagon heads to BE to get the $4B TV package now being worked?

The Big 12 schools in the biggest trouble would be Baylor and Iowa State.

“They might have to go backwards,â€￾ said a source — meaning Conference USA or the Mountain West

So when you hear Big East and wonder why schools such as Missouri, Kansas and Kansas State are being mentioned, think Midwest TV markets. Maps are just a piece of paper with lines.
With Texas A&M poised to join the SEC, the Big East is looking to add those three Big 12 schools and grow to 12 football schools and swell to 20 in basketball.

Obviously, these are baseless rumors as I was assured on this board that we are going into the Big East and/or the Big Ten.

Shoddy journalists!:realmad:

Dodd is a moron who has had an agenda against ISU for years. He is more than likely relishing the demise of ISU and is probably enjoying watching this go down all while munching on his bowl of popcorn.

Another Dodd just squashed the move to the Big Ten rumor....where do we get all these Dodds?

The post article assumes Mizzou and KU are in the Big East. I think at most, one of them ends up there. I think a worst-case scenario for ISU is that we are put up against Baylor for one open Big East spot, and with TCU already in the conference, I feel pretty good about our odds.

They'll need to add 5-10 schools to add 3 schools after they get raided. We'll likely join the Big East but we might never play Pitt, WV or UCONN.

If they're not stupid, and they want to survive as a football conference, they'll invite ISU, KSU, KU, Mizzou if available, Baylor, Houston and UCF.

Frankly I feel like 90% of the posters in this thread are more educated about all this now than nearly every article that comes out including this one.

I think I would agree.

I 100% agree. That would be an entertaining league to watch in my opinion. It will be nice to still have a couple Texas teams in the conference, the ones that don't cry or burn houses down anyway.
