Hmm, the Big 12 is about to get paid too but that doesn't seem to matter, does it?

That was one team that has a "short man syndrome" everyone agrees aTm is going to hate the SEC in about 5 years and wish they could come back to the cover of UT and the Big 12. OU has decided it needs to get its bluff in on Texas, in my opinion, OU is posturing to get more money and to try and get the Big 12 to be stable for the foreseeable future, also to break the LHN, and honestly if they can't get it done now they might as well blow up the conference because it was bound to happen anyway.

I don't see the Big Ten expanding unless Notre Dame or Texas are involved. Neither of those seem likely at this point.
Tex cannot go Big ten if they are tied at the hip with non AAu public school TexTwo, UT is the big brother watching out for little brother. Tam the sister is laughing that her big brother was buffaloed by next door Boom Boom Sooner. Hey, we could make this into a soap opera.

There are two reason to expand, one you are unstable and need to solidify your place, or two, there is more money in expanding.

So if there isn't more money in expanding why the hell would the B1G go out and get more teams and have a more diluted league. If this goes to 4 16 team conference there are going to be some really unhappy teams that used to be dominate.

However, BooneCy I am afraid you might be right that it is to logical.
I do not think the SEC will get more money with the addition of one or two teams. Their hope was lost when they signed the contract that lasts till 2024. They signed before the UT ESPN $300M debacle. 2024 is a long time to sign for.....Slive must be rethinking that one.

My thoughts exactly. We all stood to make a substantial amount of money had a few teams been able to keep their mouths shut and Texas stop trying to rule the world with football. The difference in the other conferences though, is that you don't have Texas trying to grab as much money for themselves. I am ****** at OU, Nebraska, Colorado, and especially aTm, but let us not deny the real problem in all of this and that is Texas. It honestly amazes me that any other conference would consider them. This is the second conference they've blown up. I don't see it being the last either. Texas is Texas, they know they are better and they deserver more. It will be a constant battle with another conference, no matter how equally shared everything is. Texas will always be making noise fo some sort.

They could have easily caved on their plans here and went for a Big XII TV deal instead of pushing the longhorn network and still had a huge pay day. They turned down the Pac last year, so I don't think that's really where they wanted to be. The smartest play would have been to keep the Big XII and a nice easy road to the BCS alive. Instead they went for the money grab.

If the Pac-12 isn't expanding that is huge for the chances of the conference staying together. But I won't feel good until the Big XII makes an official announcement that a loyalty agreement has been signed in blood.

This is a direct parroting of the Post article, which assumes that Mizzou and KU will head to the Big East.

I also don't get how KSU is more attractive than us, ESPECIALLY if KU is already going there. Without KU... maybe. They have a bigger potential TV draw. But you get all of that with KU. Why add KSU over ISU when you've already got the Jayhawks?

Look at Oklahoma State no one wants them, but will take them because they want OU and are willing to take there partner, KU is a big fish to the Big East so they would be willing to take KSU too
