I don't see Iowa scoring over 30 with our secondary and lb corps. This is a new qb that has played Tenn Tech and what 1 game last season?

UNI would throttle Tennessee Tech

And your point? Iowa was ahead 34-0 when the starters came out with 4 minutes left to go in the 3rd quarter and ran out the clock to end the game at the 8 and had a fumble at the 15 in the 1st quarter that took more points off the board, this game wasn't as "close" as the score looks.

With that said
Iowa 31
ISU 17

We're going to need this game to be extremely low scoring to even have a chance. 13-7 ISU

Vandenberg has actually played quite a bit. Three games in 2009 including at Ohio State. Some mop up duty last year, and Tenn Tech.

As for a prediction: Iowa 38-10 as the backups give up a late TD to ISU like last year.

DNP (suspension):

Hicks - first team RG
Darks - first team WR
Leing - second team DT

Barely played:
Rump- First team DT
Maggit - First team DE (played roughly 1 quarter, likely season ending injury)

*Pat Neat (250 lbs soaking wet played DT most of the game)

Dinged up during the game:
Jake Knott - first team LB
KO - first team LT, did not play the last quarter or so
Shontrelle - first team RB, missed a few series
CJ Morgan - first team nickle back thrown out of game halfway through 3rd quarter
Money Reynolds - first team WR, broke toe 2 weeks ago
Benton - had a stinger and missed a few series

Anyone else?

I think Matt T'afou was out too - he'll play some snaps, especially vs Iowa
My bad - UNIGuy4Cy had him in there along with Duck

I agree with alot of what is being said about the OL line/DL line play needing to improve drastictly to win this game. I think Rhoads get these guys pumped up for this game and it will be a dog fight/TurnOver fest...I say ISU 23- IA-20 and we score a defensive TD!!

Coker runs for 250 yards, Vandenberg throws for 409, McNutt has 380 yards receiving
Iowa wins 41 to 23

He was the starter for the Ohio State game in 2009 (sandwiched between Northwestern after Stanzi got injured, and Minnesota).

I would like to think that Iowa State fans would believe that Iowa State can win. Iowa's opponent last week was not a UNI. We had a lot of unknowns heading into the game. Took players a while to get adjusted and we have several players out for the game before the opening kickoff. I can see the players up for this game and playing better than last week. Iowa wasn't even tested last Saturday. Easy for me to see them loosing.

We looked horrible on Saturday. Sorry but that's my view.

Iowa 34
I-State 10

This is true. Two things give me hope though:
1)The D did not do much worse than what was expected. No one was expecting another shut-out and it seems like many were predicting UNI to score more than the 19 points they ended up with.

2)The offense looked pretty solid on those last couple scoring drives. I'm hoping Jantz & Co. found a way to get into a looser more productive place by the end of the game and it carries over for next week. I'm also hoping the atrocious line play was an anomaly that gets corrected quickly.

How many of these are expected to play against Iowa?

If we play like we did last week I think the 34-10 score sounds about right.

If our line remembers how to block we should have a lot more success and a win is possible.

Watching the spread for this game is giving me a good feeling. There is a lot of big money coming in on ISU for this game, somebody out there must know something I don't because based on what I saw Saturday I thought we'd lose by two scores for sure. Now I'll say 24-20 Iowa but we'll have a shot to win at the end.

I do see ISU's o-line improved, but not enough to win the game as the D will have to be on the field too much, and McNutt gets mention as B1G Offensive Player of the Week.

SUI 31, ISU 19.

ISU totally redeems themselves and puts on one of those classic Rhoads bounce-back games.(Tech/Texas) Jantz limits mistakes and his running gives the hawks fits. Clones DL does just enough to get by.

ISU 23 Iowa 20

After the big win, I jantz in my pants.
