I think the second tier depends on how much lower we're talking. If it is somewhere in the $15-18 nil range then I don't see how we turn it down. The research money and stability would make it worthwhile. But really, I still don't foresee an offer coming our way.

Until next year.

Listen, I want the Big XII to survive and then grow as much as the next guy. I just don't see how that is going to happen with all the crap that just went down. I am really getting tired of this BS Boiling over every year when I should be thinking about football games. AT this point, I'm going to support ISU no matter what. I just want it over with and things to settle out so that I can focus on football games instead of who got butthurt today and is exploring their options.

The Big XII is either going to die this year or survive for a long time. Even as bad as Beebe is there is no way we go forward with anything less than an ironclad agreement from every school.

I saw this before and though I like it and it seems to fit ISU, I'm still wondering about the ramifications. What would "multiple relationships include?
Boren - "We want partners that are above outstanding, both athletically and academically. A conference that's strong is not only stable, but it's one in which there are multiple relationships, along with sports, between university members."

This. The rumors are that if the Big 12 is held together, each member will sign an agreement that is rumored to have a $100 million exit penalty. This is what Beebe should have done last year and I have no clue why he didn't.

It may have been tried, but perhaps some wouldn't sign it. It would be very interesting to file an open records request to see if such a thing was proposed, and to see who wouldn't sign up...

My bet would be that AtM, Texas, OU, and Mizzou wouldn't have signed it.
