SEC presidents meeting/voting today. Translation: Ags have officially submitted their request for admission into Southeastern Conference

If this was possible to do, what school would pay $100 million to leave the Big 12?

Your answer is...

Nobody would leave short of Texas for that pricetag!

UT could probably negotiate terms to spread the payment over 4 or 5 years and really not skip a beat. Even with what's left over, UT would be one of the top spenders among the FBS schools.

I'm for an solution that puts us in a new conference. I realize this is probably not a good stance to take for our long term athletic viability, but I can't take this Big 12 non-sense anymore.

I find it utterly stunning that that aTm's fans don't understand that they are walking into a horrific Faustian agreement. Oh well...let A&M's dance with the Devil BEGIN!

I'm going to struggle to decide who to root against harder in the future, Nebraska or TAMU.

It's quite possible A&M isn't doing this out of desire, but necessity. More of a preemptive strike so to speak.

If some of the reports have legs to them, the Texas and OU interest in other conferences may not have picked back up with A&M wanting to leave. Perhaps A&M got sick of the uncertainty and did what they had to do in order to self-preserve.

Probably a good move...must be nice to be desired.

No one has really mentioned this in a while, but what happens if the SEC votes today and they only get 8 votes (they need 9 of 12) to add aTm in? There has been news that at least 3 schools are not completely for the addition, if just one more gets cold feet about the ramifications then would aTm come back weeping into the Big 12?

I can't imagine TAMU submitting themselves for a vote without complete confidence that they will get in.
