He was on 810 this morning in KC. Other ISU comments...

- Should beat UConn and move to 3-0
- ISU dominated Iowa
- ISU better team than Iowa and won every series in 2nd half
- Wore Iowa down physically... which never happens to Iowa
- Really impressed with Rhoads and his wins over Nebraska, Texas, and Iowa in first three years
- UConn "mid-level" team that lost its coach and is down this year
- Thinks it will be an "easy" game Friday night for ISU

Nice to see national attention. 810 radio guys also impressed with Jantz.

Those statements make me really nervous.

Agreed. It's not going to be an easy game by any stretch. I know UCONN is not too great, but it's a long trip for us, with one day less to prepare, we just had a huge, emotionally- and physically-taxing win, and we're playing under the bright lights of ESPN.

I'm expecting a close, ugly game, but hopefully the Clones stay focused and do what they need to do.

3-0 heading into the bye week would be boss.

Agreed. But we do have a history of inspecting the mouths of gift horses and snatching defeat from the jaws of victory....

I love the good pub but its obvious most of it comes from people who didn't see us play against UNI. In fact, I think most people around here have forgotten about that game as well. What a difference a week makes. I wonder it will be like after we handle UCONN....

Statements like these show that people don't see us as a bad program, but a good one. Embrace it. Sure, I am nervous that we can do the same thing we did last week again on a road game. But, don't fear expectations.

Nice pub. ISU deserves it. But the bigger game is really this friday night. Because it is the next game. Our guys must put the iowa game behind them and go out and find a way to win on a nationally televised game and put us at 3-0. We struggled with lowly KU after the Texas game for a half last year, that CANNOT happen against UConn. (They are coming off a big let down against Vandy....and our guys have to be prepaired.)

Thus, setting up a HUGE game against Texas to start conference play.

Go Steele, Go Cyclones!

I don't think UNI showed anyone much, considering that it was against a solid, veteran team, and with two key offensive linemen out (one completely). I think the UNI game was a good win.

I agree, I'm just saying it was as ugly as the Iowa win was pretty. Make no mistake we're getting a lot of "style" points with the media after this win. I'm pretty sure Steele Jantz just became the favortie name of sportscasters across the nation.

I don't think coach Rhoads will let the boys get comfortable for this game, so they should be ready.

I also love how Rhoads said (in his presser yesterday) he's going to prepare the team as much as he can based on his past experience playing UConn in the Big East.......where they'll be staying, how the stadium is layed out, where the student section is, etc....

I think they'll be ready.....just hope the turnovers, penalties and kicking game improve.

You guys go ahead and live in fear. I feel like we should win this game by 10+ points.

I am very confident, and that is a direct product of Paul Rhoads. However, I am still going to wear my nut cup just in case. There is permenant damage from all the groin kicks we have taken in the past.

I will see your 10+ and raise you to 20+.....

Our D is fast and will be flying all over the field.... UCONN isn't even going to know what hit them until Jim Cantore shows up on Saturday morning to inspect the damage and confirms that a Cyclone hit Rentschler Field.
