Combine the remaining Big 12 and Big East teams and this does not look like a bad conference for ISU, as long as it remains a BCS conference, maybe even pick up one or three more teams to be at 10 or 12.

1. Iowa State
2. Kansas
3. Kansas State
4. Missouri
5. UConn
6. Rutgers
7. Cincinnati
8. Louisville
9. USF

And you left off Baylor. Do this and maybe even look to add another team or 2 (Houston? SMU? Memphis? UCF?) to get to 12. I don't get why we wouldn't do this. Beebe needs to just sit everyone down and say "Look, we can be in the driver seat now. If you want to leave (looking at you OU) then leave now, if not, let's move on with who we got left". I see a real possibility here.

I think I'm trying to block Texas teams out of any conference ISU is a part of, I'd rather it be Texas free, but I think having a couple Texas teams would help in our recruiting, so I suppose TCU and Baylor would be all right.

Joining the Big East just creates a total cluster-f&!k of a basketball conference. That's my reason for being anti-big-east right now...

That and the Big E is looking as unstable as us right now. Leave it to Ia State to reach out to ride on another dead horse. I actually think the B12 stands a better chance of rebuilding if the Big E starts to fall apart.

If the big east starts losing teams, they should join the remaining 5 teams (or 6) in the big 12...

there's a lot of value in the big 12 brand, and if the majority of the conference sticks together i can't see how it can be dissolved without consequence... if they stick together to prevent the schools wanting out to make that happen, there's going to be a lot of money up for grab as they move out of the conference

kU and Mizzou won't stick around for that

Missouri maybe not, but isn't KU tied down to KSU? I don't know if I'm the Pac12 if I would be willing to take both schools. It might be worth taking OSU with OU, but OSU is actually having some success and OU is a bigger name and a bigger state. KSU seems to be sliding in a non-populated state. I think if I were them I would take OU and OSU and Tech. Tech would give them the inroads to the state of Texas and would fit better geography. Then maybe add BYU.

Will the ACC go to 16 teams? Texas might be why the two BigEast schools are suddenly applying.

That will leave KU, KSU, Baylor, ISU and Missouri.

You're assuming that KU and Mizzou are going to be left without a better home. They will be presented with what appear to be better options (Pac 12, SEC possibly Big 10 or ACC)

Anyone thinking KU and Mizzou end up in the BE is experiencing wishful thinking. They will definitely have better options.

Rutgers will likely be leaving the BE with B10 growth as well.

I agree with you, but I'm not sure that KU going to the Pac 16 is going to be a good thing for their B-ball program. I definitely don't think Mizzou should go to the SEC. If either get a crack at the Big 10 or maybe even the ACC, then it's probably a wise move.

But personally, long-term, I think KU/Mizzou would be better off in the Big East than the Pac/SEC

I think the Big twelve needs to go hard after Louisville, Cincinnati, and West Virginia.

The Big 12 needs to sign anybody with a pulse...BYU(Mormon cult following), Air Force(service academy) and anybody left in the Big East...You dangle the TV contracts in front of them. Then once in you enact stringent exit clauses that would prevent somebody from coming in and poaching anybody...
