Again, we can't compare today's rules to tomorrow's situation. What if the four super conferences go to a playoff and there is no BCS. That's where this appears to be headed. You may be right, the new B12/East is a AQ conference, just in time for the BCS to dissolve too. We really don't know where this is headed.

A playoff is very unlikely right now. The media wants you to believe that the super conferences will lead to a playoff, but that is just a media creation as is them leaving the NCAA. When there is a playoff, it won't just be conference champs. Everyone will be eligible. The exclusion thing is another media creation.

The funny thing - I think Texas to the Pac 1X aids ISU into the B1G even more - the media what if? "darling" of Texas to the B1G would be dead. We move yet another spot up in line.

Yes, we move up again in line, but why should we believe that Big 10 is going up to 16 just because everybody else is doing it?

The B1G has enough of an ego that they won't move until they want to and they feel they can get whoever they want regardless if they are in another conference

Why shouldn't we?

A month ago the SEC was perfectly happy at 12.
A week ago the Pac 12 said it was perfectly happy at 12.
Yesterday morning the ACC had no expansion plans and was bracing being picked apart by the SEC.

So do I honestly believe the B1G when they say they have no interest in expanding beyond 12? Hell no.

re: Report: TX & OU and the sisters are gone

So how does this even the playing field for OU? If there is more money UT gets to keep it??

Again...why not just stay in the B12 and take some UT LHN concessions as have been offered up and play in your backyard instead of in timbuktu????

Agreed. The power conferences set up the BCS. It isnt an ncaa creation. They could change it anytime they wanted to make a playoff system. Being more exclusionary doesn't help them. Leaving even more schools out causes more legal issues for them, I would imagine.

And if they leave the NCAA, fine. But then they should lose tax-exempt status.

Re: Report: TX & OU and the sisters are gone

This isn't that bad of a development. Certainly far better than KU/K-State going along.

At least this way we can tie ourselves to those schools and have some geographical rivalries in tact.

I'm assuming this will push Mizzou to the SEC with A&M.

KU,ISU,K-State, Baylor, TCU, Louisville, Cincy, WVU, BYU (out of necessity) and whatever other Big East schools remain.

This TV contract will likely be a joke, but viable enough, IMO.

Hopefully the Big 10 stays pat (UNLESS of course they chose to add us).

Re: TX & OU and the sisters are gone

They may have agreement. They may want to go BUT it will not happen. The legal system will not let it happen. Is A&M in the SEC yet? Is there an obvious and clear reason why?

The legal argument is likely based on the Big 12 keeping a majority. If UT/OU/OSU/TTech/A$M/Mizzou dissolve...........it's curtains for the Big 12 and it's contracts.
