OU is now making decisions based on the demands of a former Mountain West Conference school? If that is the case then most people are seriously giving far too much credit for OU and the power they hold. If BYU can "force" OU's hand then OU didn't have much of a hand from the start.

Everyone one of Boomer's arguments make Oklahoma look shallow and pathetic. Apparently, they don't see themselves as a program that can compete for their own traditional recruiting base. They also apparently lack the backbone to stand up to Texas, so they require additional schools to do that for them.

Apparently, Oklahoma is really a pathetic paper tiger that doesn't deserve to be recognized as a major voice in anything outside of self-loathing. They seem to be good at that, and not much good at anything else.

I cant wait to see a financial statement from OU/OSU showing the net increase in income. Will it matter when the other sports more their double their expenses?

This x100. It defies logic that OU wants to go to the PAC. I would add that if OU would stay in a recommitted Big 12, they would have just as much power as Texas AND they could have equal revenue sharing. Head out west and now you will likely be fighting against Texas, USC, Stanford, UCLA, and Cal with equal revenue sharing.

OU to the PAC makes no sense but they seem hell bent on leaving...

OU would be seen by Mizzou, Kansas, K-State, Baylor, and Iowa State as the university that saved the Big XII and in that regard the university that saved their athletic programs from a slow and painful death. OU would have partners in the Big XII that Texas wouldn't have. If OU negotiated with Texas for equal revenue sharing in the Big XII to keep it alive then the forgotten 5 would be even more in debt to OU. When you have friends... you have power. OU could make a power play here that would put them on equal footing with Texas in the Big XII.... as it appears the higher ups there are just too ignorant to understand this.

A&M is now in the SEC, SEC is now in Texas in & ou[MP3][/MP3]t.. gaining west coast recruiting for OU is now important

This is outright nonsense because the SEC has won the last 5 or 6 straight BCS championships without an influx of Texas recruits. The SEC schools are doing just fine without Texas recruits and I don't see how suddenly OU won't be able to recruit there just because the SEC now has a presence there.

At the expense of potentially losing Texas recruiting. Sorry but boys from LA are going to stay in Cali. OU has an advantage in TX, that they wouldn't have in Cali.

You're not understanding that Oklahoma can only compete in the absence of competition. Competition, even very marginal, is too frightening a prospect for Oklahoma to face. They simply can't handle it.

Maybe they'd be a good candidate for the MAC or Sun Belt. No competition there.

OkState Gundy not happy that Big 12 is coming to end. He hates losing all of the old friends and rivals. Said he told that to top OSU folks

sounds like Gundy knows something...

This is what might force ND's hand such that they HAVE to join a conference whether they want to or not. Like lots of things, they just have to THINK it might happen because if they don't move now once things are sorted out it might be impossible for them to move later. That's what Pitt/Syr were trying to avoid by jumping early. Jumping early means you can control your own destiny. Not saying ND is going to join the B10 just that anyone who states "ND will never join a conference" might end up eating crow. Until this sorts itself out all bets are off and what used to be unthinkable might just become reality.
Navy might be in the same boat.

Why would OU want to try and break into the Cali recruiting area at the expense of the Texas area which they already have locked down? That makes absolutely no sense. They are probably 2nd in line behind UT right now in Texas. They will be behind at least USC, UCLA, Cal, and probably Oregon for Cali recruits in the Pac-12.

Big 12 is not coming to the end.........its picking up Central Florida, South Florida, Boise State, maybe Hawaii too, and Alaska-Anchorage University is still holding out to ensure they can get their own network deal. Goal is to have a school in each time zone, to ensure our athletes see every inch of all 50 states.
