LOL. I've been very consistent in saying that I think ISU will end up in an AQ league.

I've never once stated that ISU would end up in the MAC. I have most consistently said that ISU would end up in a BCS "leftovers" league - a combination of the Big 12, Big East, and the best of the rest non AQs.

In 5 years Iowa State will be in a stable Big 12 conference with Texas, OU, KU, Mizzou and friends or the B1G if the Big 12 falls apart.

If the Big 12 gets back to 12, shares revenue and finds common ground like everyone but Texas wants, it will be stable for a long time.

I'm still confident it will happen within the next 10 years.

I think this recent news is great for ISU in the short term....the Big 12 is still on life support in the long term IMO.

Its on life support because you WANT it to be on life support.

You are so full of **** its coming out of your ears.

There is a reason the Big 12 has about broken down about 4 times now and never has. Too much money. One conference was going to take the hit and it looks like the Big East. New commish, new bargaining with UT, we are strong.

Not exactly sure.
If we get the concessions that OU wants, we will stabilize, mostly. The five year statement is to have UT ask and then OU can throw out, if you want long term stability, you need to do this. Gives them a little more leverage.

The faithfull five needs to grab some power now too. Every alpha needs a pack, you cant get a group of alphas together and expect it to last too long. This is why 4 major conferences will have trouble. Every conference has their betas: 12 - faithful five, etc, sec - vandy, uk, msu, etc, pac - wazzu, osu, cu, etc, ten - minny, nw, iowa, etc. They all have them.

UT cant just grab anybody. The high school stud is not a stud long if he is hanging with a pack of junior highers. He needs some upperclassmen to looks legit and pull respect. While the faithful five are not the big draws, we do add quality that others respect. Time for us to step up and let them know that they do truely need us also.

There was a lot of talk on the Sirrius channel 91 - college sports- today that Missouri is still likely to leave the Big XII. Of course, they've been wrong on everything they've talked about up to this point. Basically yesterday talking about the UT, TTU, OU, and OSU to the PAC. And how it was going to work out. And that Missouri would be accepting an invite to the SEC sometime this week.

Keep listening to that channel, it seems to me they love throwing **** against a wall.

Hell, from all the sources I listen to, CF has been the best place for information from all of them. More of these shows need to look at CF if they really want to be on top of the realignment talks.

BS.

From May 10, 2010, squatfan (the derision towards you here is earned, hawkfan):

If Texas and Nebraska leave the Big 12, it will be MUCH harder on ISU than it will be on Iowa. Without any doubt, ISU ends up in the MAC/MWC if Texas and Nebraska (on top of Colorado) leave the Big 12. Oklahoma/OK. St. will end up in the SEC and the remaining Big 12 teams will be hung out to dry.

No matter what happens you will still be posting pea-brained drivel, whether 5, 10, or 25 years from now. I, for one, hope it isn't here.

I believe we will take BYU right away to get to 10 and then we'll wait to see what the SEC and ACC do. If the SEC takes WVU or ACC takes UConn and/or Rutgers and puts a further hurt on the BE, then the B12 will likely swoop in and take 1 or 2 more teams from the BE (Louisville, TCU most likely).

We'll get to 10 and then go into a holding pattern. Given what we've been through, I don't see us tearing another conference apart unless it is obvious that conference is dead.

Right now there are still 3-4 teams the BE can pick up and still remain.

A&M is still gone. The only reason it feels like the heat on them leaving has died down is because of this whole ridiculous Oklahoma sidebar. Now that the dust appears to be settling on that, I think we'll see everyone's attention re-focused on resolving the A&M situation. That needs to be completely finished one way or the other before they start tackling conference rules and revenue sharing to try and re-solidify things, and I think the quickest way is to just let the Aggies leave.

I didn't say they would be staying in the Big 12.

Am I the only one who has cooled greatly on BYU? I could go along with BYU, Air Force, and New Mexico. But I think we need to go either east or west with expansion, not both. I want those three, or Louisville, UCF, and USF.
