The silence on the Big 12 Expansion front is deafening. There is not a peep in the media, blogs, fan sites, etc. It probably is the silence before the storm. The big wheels and power brokers are feverishly working behind the scenes. We shall see what they have cooked up and see how it effects the fans in the Big 12.
Tam does her thing Tuesday....dollar tacos in the SEC bar and grille.

Before anyone gets too wrapped up in OU President David Boren's comments concerning OU's future, they may want to take a look at David Boren's background. David L. Boren - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It's obvious that this guy is totally about politics and he knows his way around the political circles. He plays with the big boys on a daily basis which includes Capitol Hill. He is the co-chairman of the President's Intelligence Advisory Board under Barack Obama.

In other words, he knows how to play poker (politics can be likened to a high stakes poker game) with the big boys. Right now he is throwing more chips on the pile, he is raising the ante. He's not showing his hand. The SEC and TAM would not go along with OU's attempt to stop TAM from leaving the Big 12 so he's challenging their hand.

We shall see how this game turns out and see if the SEC blinks.
He will choose his conference between the winner of the SEC and Pac 12 #4 Oregon and #3 LSU. Actually if he is protecting OSU, he will do Pac 12 on Tuesday after Tam goes. Texas will have no choice but to go. They will not make it as an independent despite what they think.

I think you're right, it's certainly looking that way.

It has nothing to do with health. They don't want alcohol to become your "God" since it is an addictive substance. Most churches have that stance.

Mormons have lots of kids. That would suggest sex is pretty prevalent. Some claim it could be addictive. Mormons of the past practiced polygamy. So do you think Mormons enjoy sex or is it merely for procreation?

My thoughts have shifted somewhat from when we first started this. I used to think BYU was a lock. Now, I'm not so sure.

I do like BYU but not sure logistically that's the direction the Big12 needs to go. I have been swayed to the "go east" group. Mainly because if we do go west...and then need to expand, We will be across 3 timezones because I really don't see any other teams out west that we would get. Possibly Air Force....

If we do go East...our options are greater and I think a better fit. Take a look at a map...BYU is way out there in BFE. I know that's not everything but Louisville definitely brings more as far as basketball. And they have had some decent teams in the last 10 years in FB....TX recruiting may help that as well. I really think we won't hear much more until at least the week after this, once the new commish has his campus tours.

I think BYU will be the 10th team and it will be from a PR stance the most. After almost collapsing from being picked apart, the conference doesn't want to be viewed as the ones that do that to the Big East. They'll take BYU, then allow the SEC or ACC to be the one to ruin the Big East, then we'll swoop in for numbers 11 and 12. From what it sounds like, the teams in the BE being mentioned for the Big XII aren't being mentioned for anywhere else, so they aren't in much danger to be picked before we get them. I have no proof or evidence of any of this whatsoever, just a gut feeling.

If they are going let schools come in for not all sports they better let us add some affiliate wrestling schools as well.

We could add West Virginia - good football, decent basketball, and they have a WRESTLING program! that's my vote. don't air force have wrestling as well. i think byu cut their program due to title ix

A trusted #Big12 source tells me tonight that Louisville was offered Friday afternoon. No word on other offers. #CardNation

I'd look at Louisville, Memphis, Cincinatti. If the superconferences form, it gives us the ability to split divisions East/West. Adds some football and a lot of basketball strength. No more Texas teams (3 is plenty for Texas exposure), especially no SMU.

I like your list. Add Air Force as another possbility.

I said this on the other thread. You pick up BYU now for the 10th team, and then reserve Louisville and Cincinnati now for when the Big East 27 month time period is over. Memphis will be there if the superconferences start
