I'll say that if the MWC/C-USA merger doesn't change their name to the Big Country conference and use this song for their theme, it will be a huge missed opportunity:

LOL, good stuff dillon! Around the 1:15 mark in the video, it looks like the lead singer takes a balloon to the face, but he held himself together pretty well. :) Gotta love low-budget 80's music videos.

Top of the Pops. They were all about the high-end special effects.

"Let's see, we have a band, some lights, and $12.50. Alright, we'll get some balloons, set the lights to 'pulse,' and overdub the whole thing. No one's ever going to see this again anyway."

What has changed?

Read TigerBoard. The fans on there are convinced that Mizzou is gone... mainly because LHN gives Texas an unfair advantage. Yesterday Pinkel refused to take back his comments. Other Mizzou coaches have come out in favor of the SEC.

It might be time to get the lawsuits ready.

Yes, Missouri, that is why Texas is better than you. Really. :skeptical:

Because if anything tips off where someone is going its a message board. Geesh. Be smarter than that.

Ok... So Mizzou fans want to leave? Outside of Baylor, there were fans at every single Big 12 school clamoring to leave in the past 3 months, but only one of those schools has actually left.

Fan boards don't speak for the U. Neither do coaches, but, if coaches are saying publicly that they want to go, please leave. Otherwise they'll whine and threaten instability for years. What's our cut if two teams leave and the conference goes on? More than 4 million I'd guess. This should happen more often.

He basically admits that Mizzou will always have options, and the only reason he wants to leave is for the hell of it.

Good thing he's a writer and not an admin.

Thats not really what he says at all....

That's all well and good. But what happens in six years? Heck, what happens in six months if a more attractive option suddenly becomes available to Oklahoma or Texas? Those schools always have power. They'll always have options. They've proven they'll look out for themselves (and I'm not even saying they're wrong to do so?everyone has to look out for themselves first and foremost). But if the Big 12 proves to be as dysfunctional as it appears, Oklahoma and Texas are going to be fine. They'll have suitors lined up on every corner between Norman and Austin.

But Missouri? Maybe not. If the Tigers pass on a chance to bolt for the Southeastern Conference now, that's it. They're not going to get another one. Perhaps they would land in the Big Ten if the Big XII does indeed blow up at some point. I'm pretty sure Mizzou would be safe and land somewhere inside a major conference. But it wouldn't have choices. It wouldn't be the aggressor. It wouldn't hold its fate in its own hands.

Why did Texas A&M leave the Big 12? Their fans demanded it. From what I've seen, the Mizzou fans are every bit as worked up about this as the Aggie fans were.

I think they are being irrational as hell but sometimes the tail wags the dog in situations like this. Mizzou had their pride hurt last year when the Big 10 turned them down. This move could be just as much about getting back at the Big 10 as it is anything else.

If Mizzou leaves, I think the Big 12 needs to give some serious thought to bringing in Missouri State. They have a huge alumni base in St. Louis. Give them 3-4 years to build up their football program much like the Big East did for UConn.

Like Aggie fans, he's being emotional and irrational. Missouri is more competitive in the Big 12. The Big 12 is a stable league with Missouri and an addition of Big East programs. EVEN IF the Big 12 blows up again, which would be less likely with reforms like equal revenue sharing and signing away of rights, both of which the rest of the league is for, Missouri will have a home.

Why does it matter if you have "options" as long as you have a home in a major conference? It doesn't. This. Is. All. About. Ego.

1. And this is what is dumb about all this. The fans are able to demand a move against the administration's desires. The reason they're demanding a move is because of the instability in the Big 12 which Mizzou started in the first place because the Mizzou fans were unhappy they kept getting passed over for bowl births by teams with lesser records.

2. Missouri State = FCS. I don't think we really want to dip down to Div I-AA to take a new member.
