My how soft our society has become. So concerned about what looks appropriate. Kids getting medals for 17th place so their pride isn't bruised. Others so sensitive that a burst of emotion is frowned upon. Go watch a tennis or golf game.........IB
I don't give a **** what is appropriate or not, in fact I never said anything about appropriateness. It is about professionalism.
If you were to show the coach the film and ask him about it, I would venture to say he would say much the same things some have said here.
I am all about emotion and backing your team, I have no freaking idea what he thought he was doing at that point. I am assuming he completely lost his cool. That isn't a trait that you want in any leadership position. If you look at the players in the background, they don't even know what to make of that show.
Like many coaches prior to him, right now CPR is "untouchable" to many. It has happened with every single coach that has come here. Anyone says something that could possibly be viewed as negative and people jump completely down their throats. Of course, a month or year later, the same idiots are calling for the person's head. (McDerrmott, LE, Danny Mac, etc, etc, etc)
For the record I LOVE PR! I think he is the man for the job and love his enthusiasm and passion for Iowa State. I just feel that this specific situation was somewhat embarrassing.
