I'll take an 11 team league over 10 any day. Not sure how the Big Ten worked it out, but I know there's some rotation in the schedule.
Play 8, dont play 2. Rotate... Repeat. If we were the Iowa of the Big XII, we wouldnt play texas or OU most years, kinda like they avoided OSU forever.

This is laughable...

Alabama | MrSEC.com

The SEC has more d-bags than any other conference. They're holier than thou attitude is getting old. This guy and Clay Travis are far worse than Chip Brown.
They're conference homers, not one team, they suck the conference teet. Truth is, if Slive and the SEC had maintained the status quo and not lifted up A&Ms skirt when Aggie offered it's nether regions, none of this is going on. They had 12 schools, they had a conference championship, they had dominance (14 teams will dilute their conference, more teams = more losers in the end). They chased the dollar sign because they were jealous that lesser conference (PAC) made bank on their rights. This is all going on because of the SEC this year.

They point to the dysfunction in the Big XII, but they are the source of the dysfunction this year. They could have told A&M they weren't interested....but they DIDN'T.

Slive's comments at the Quarterback Club this week lets you know just how much he's eating this attention up. That is one huge ego....I'll enjoy the next cycle of play when the SEC is not the almighty and when their cheating ways finally catch up to them. Now if only the NCAA would enforce its rules, we could enjoy watching the SEC fade away....

Yeah, the arrogance of SEC fans is sickening to me. Living in Arkansas, it's like they think the SEC deserves to be in a different division than the rest of college football.

It's SEC media guys like these that keep stirring up the fanbases of A&M and Missouri to force the hand of the university's leadership to move. All the crazy fanbases of the SEC want to do is take in A&M and Missouri, take football wins from their teams, and force the new SEC network down the throats of their populations.

I know 99.9% of Arkansas fans would never choose to leave the SEC, but to me they have the #9 ranked team in the nation, and they're the 3rd best team in their division. Why not compete for a B12 championship and have shorter trips to play competition? It's about the same money at the end of the day. If concerns about stability were taken care of, it makes more sense to me, but I know it would never happen.

Louisville is going to be a GREAT roadtrip people.

Yessir! Thats where they make Pappy Van Winkles! Plus multiple other bourbons and baseball bats. I spent many a summer in Kentucky during my youth... and the accents on the Kentucky gals, love em!
Anyway they can move the Derby to late Sept/ early Oct?

Louisville is an awesome town. Louisville Slugger is awesome.

An 11 team Big 12 is a solid compromise for everyone. Schools in favor of 12 get back to 8 conference games and schools in favor of 10 don't play a conference championship game. This probably kills the Big East and creates a 30 team super. That will be something to behold.

Big Ten did for years. I like it because still doesn't give MU the out they want.

Assuming that they stay at 11 teams for at least a few years, and that the scheduling is similar to how the Big 10 used to do it, is an 11-team conference a good thing or a bad thing for Iowa State?

Obviously it's good to get 2 more decent programs into the league right away, but others have mentioned that having divisions is a better way for ISU to avoid running the UT/OU gaunlet every year. Plus it's 2 more mouths to feed.

What do you think?
