This question was just asked to Herbstriet(sp) on ESPN. I for one say no. They had the game at home, they had their shot and lost. I would say any undefeated team should get a shot ahead of them -- even if it is Boise State. Just my thought and preference.

I am sick of the SEC being the end all/be all. The Big 12 is a much better conference this year and get's almost no respect for it.

No! They don't get a shot. They lost the game. I would much rather have Boise play for it than seeing another SEC match up. Just asking the question pisses me off.

Boise has no business in the top 10...I don't care how many crappy teams they beat.

That said, Alabama absolutely deserves another shot. These are by far the best two teams in the country.

The only way they should get a rematch is
1. Okie St loses a game.
2. Stanford loses a game.
3. Bama remains a 1 loss team.

I would still put Bama in the title game over an undefeated BSU team and also a 1 loss OSU or Stanford team.
I told myself before this game that the only way they deserve to have a rematch is if they keep the game close and its not a blowout. Well, losing by 3 points in OT meets those requirements. Now, all they need is for OSU and Stanford to lose.

Another thing to think about is how tough a road LSU still has remain undefeated. They still play Arkansas and will probably play Georgia in the SEC championship.

If there would ever be a rematch, Bama would just buy a good kicker.

Please no. The SEC love fest is already high enough. We don't need to feed the monster any more.

No. I hate the idea of two conference opponents meeting in the title game. I get that the SEC is the "greatest conference" in college football but that would be stupid. Remember when this was brought up with Ohio State and Michigan having rematch in the title game even though Ohio State beat Michigan in the regular season. Then Ohio State was blasted by Florida.

Absolutely they deserve a rematch. No doubt in my mind that these are the two best teams in the nation. LSU's line on both sides of the ball would manhandle OSU's. A closer game between the two best teams in the nation would be the rematch.

Five years ago, Ohio State and Michigan were "clearly" the two best teams in the country and played a great game. There was debate about whether they should get a rematch. Ohio State ended up losing their bowl game against Florida 41-14 and Michigan lost to USC 32-18.

The lesson we all should have learned from that is that we can't just assume two teams from the same conference are better than everybody else. Alabama lost, at home no less. They deserve to fall behind the other contenders. It would be a travesty if a one-loss Alabama got in over undefeated Okie State or Stanford. At that point we can pretty much say the games don't matter.

Jesus, that was great defense by Alabama, but those idiots missed 4 field goals. 2 pretty long ones, but the first miss was 44 yards and even our missed up kicking game made a 42 one to win it.

They're the two best teams, but no.. not unless a perfect storm of losses has it between them and boise st.. there have been years boise deserved to be in the talks, but this isn't one of them. Weak schedule or not, they just don't look that good.

You don't know this. You are basing your comparison because they are both doing a great job in the SEC. Putting them both in the national championship game will only show that they were the two best teams in the SEC again.

I would LOVE it if Georgia finds a way to win the SEC and Boise State runs the table. There's no way they could justify putting a one-loss Alabama or LSU that didn't even win the SEC in the title game over an undefeated Boise State team that beat the SEC champion by two touchdowns (and it really wasn't even that close).

True this is a very good point. I guess maybe I will feel different when Oklahoma State wins that bedlam showdown. Maybe I am just a little too psyched from being just an hour removed from that great game in Tuscaloosa tonight.

I see your point. I will say that the SEC has won the national championship game the last 5 years so they have shown they have been the best recently. If Oklahoma State wins out then they definately need to be given a shot. As far as Stanford I am not so sure. Also, Boise State I would say absolutely not.
