Until Georgia upsets Lsu and an 11-1 bama or 12-1 lsu team is left out of the playoffs and we have to hear everyone ***** about how the second best team in the country missed the playoffs. A playoff will create plenty of problems too.

I've made a lot of posts before regarding an 8-team playoff. Conference champ from six major conferences, and next two highest ranking BCS (or whatever) teams. This would most likely open the door for both of these teams to have a chance, and earn the right to be in the championship game if they had a previous loss. There are solutions that are much, much better than what we have now.

Yes. IMO these two teams are the best teams in the country. I they definitely deserve it over Boise St, I don't care if Boise is undefeated. And whoever said the Big 12 is a better conference than the SEC this year...I disagree on that one. I would say the Big 12 is a clear cut second, but the SEC had two games today between top 10 teams and they are just solid. (not that the big 12 isn't)

No, they had their chance & lost. Lets say they were given a rematch to play for it all in the National Championship & Bama won. Then each team would have one win against the other. How could u say Bama is better?

If it weren't for an Iowa State like kicking game Bama would have won today.

Yet they lost. ISU would have won the Big 12 North a couple times if we hadn't missed some field goals. Maybe we deserved a few rematches too.

I think the BCS set a precedent with Michigan on 06. No rematches unless everyone has 2 losses. You get one chance and that's it. Give Boise the shot this year if no one else is undefeated. Overall, the quality of the top end, IMO, is not that good.

In a way, I hope you're right. BSU deserves a shot after all the years they didn't get one. However, this year I don't think they're good enough to compete with LSU, and if they lose it will be a shame because it will be "I told you so, non-AQ teams don't deserve a shot in the NC game". Lets just hope OSU wins out and can represent our conference.

I would LOVE it if Georgia finds a way to win the SEC and Boise State runs the table. There's no way they could justify putting a one-loss Alabama or LSU that didn't even win the SEC in the title game over an undefeated Boise State team that beat the SEC champion by two touchdowns (and it really wasn't even that close).

You want to use your hypothetical sec champion as their one quality win, but the truth is georgia is not a great team..they are enjoying the easiest schedule in the SEC..hard to get an easy schedule in that conference but they did. Their only road games are ole miss, tenn, and vanderbilt..and they don't play lsu, bama or arkansas. Their schedule is the only thing separating them from 4-5 teams like vanderbilt. They haven't beat a single ranked team all season.. Georgia isn't any closer to LSU or Bama than Boise is.. Boise's one "quality" win is against a fraud.

But hell, part me wants them in there now and let them get killed so people won't be complaining about it for years. With the talent they're about to lose, this is their best chance. At least the SEC would be taking them out at their best and wouldn't have to hear about how boise got screwed out of the chance

Absolutely NO!!!

You have to win your own conference to actually play in then National Championship game and as of right now, Bama might not even be playing in the SEC Championship game.

Georgia isn't great, but if they win the East and get an upset in the SEC championship game, they will be SEC champs. That's the way it works.

I don't think Boise is the fraud you think the are. Every time they're supposed to lose a big game, they win it. They're 46-2 since Kellen Moore became their starting QB. I personally believe last year's Boise State team was better than this year's, but if they're one of two undefeated teams, it's time to give them a chance.

Georgia is the fraud..boise is legit, just not at the same level as bama or lsu.. my main disagreement is the idea that boise clearly should go over a 1 loss sec team in that scenario. If alabamas only loss is this 9-6 ot loss, they will have had a much more impressive year than Boise. (And just to be clear, I don't want to see a rematch) I'm not ruling them out because of their schedule..they just don't look to be one of the best teams this year.

the sec is not that good Alabama and LSU are but the rest are just average this year top to bottom big 12 is better so if it comes down to a 1 loss big 12 team vs a rematch I want to see good offense vs great defense

Keep telling yourself that.

Let's revisit this after this season's bowl season beatdowns of the Big Ten/(some) Big 12 stooges.

P.S. This might be the year you see the SEC have a third go around for the NC.

If the season ended right now? No. But there's a long way to go and a lot of things can happen before the end of the season that could change my mind.

The one thing that bothers me about the undefeated Boise vs. 1-loss anyone else is the SOS argument. I get if you just don't think Boise is as good as the other teams. Fine. But don't argue that because of their SOS they shouldn't get a shot at the title. If SOS was really that important, than I would argue that Bama should still be #2 when the polls come out - after all they were #2 before and they lost by 3 in OT to the #1 team. But Bama will be punished for losing while OK State will be rewarded for sneaking by K-State. I would argue that it takes a better team to lose by 3 to LSU than it does to beat K-State by 7.

The reality is that it's all about wins and losses - unless you're Boise. Then it's about whatever the excuse of the day is to keep a non-AQ team out of the title game.

Implement a 16 team playoff and have all the rematches you want. Until then, no way. Just another reason the BCS system is a joke.

I wouldn't want to watch a rematch of that game. 2 really good defenses and 2 really bad offenses. The game was boring.

This. I ended up turning the channel to watch OSU/KSU, which was a MUCH more entertaining game. SEC ball is boring. Most of their big games end up 10-7 or 9-6 or 10-3. Maybe the WAC-style Big 12 numbers are over the top, but don't we watch football to see people score touchdowns? Isn't that the goal? I'd rather watch LSU vs anyone BUT Bama. That game was so far from living up to the hype that it wasn't in the same neighborhood.

Lose at home w/o scoring a touchdown? Rematch? No way!

This question was just asked to Herbstriet(sp) on ESPN. I for one say no. They had the game at home, they had their shot and lost. I would say any undefeated team should get a shot ahead of them -- even if it is Boise State. Just my thought and preference.

this would have been a good poll...

no i do not believe they should get a shot. yes both of these teams are top 4 minimum. but why would an undefeated okie st. or stanford not deserve the same shot? alabama had their shot AT HOME and didn't get it done. i would LOVE to see okie st offense vs lsu defense. what a great game that would be. i hardly want to see a 3-0 championship game.
