One of the local sports talk radio hosts suggested cancelling the game, and the Husker fans came out of everywhere to tell him that was BS. I think it would take the end of the world before these guys would not want to see the game played. Almost every caller was telling the host he was crazy for not wanting the game to go on. I can see them taking a forfeit if they lost though...

I don't usually pull for Nebraska, not caring too much about them since they're not in the Big XII, but if Joe Pa is going to coach this one, I know which team I'll be rooting for.

It's all over the place now, multiple reports saying that Board of Trustees will announce that Joe Paterno will no longer be the coach, Tom Bradley will be named interim coach. And as expected Spanier has resigned...

Re: Paterno to retire at seasons end

It'll be interested to see how they say it, but Board of Trustees expected to announce that Joe Paterno has coached his last game at Penn State.

Re: Paterno to retire at seasons end

Trust me, he'll be on the field this Saturday. And the students will chant his name and carry him after the end of the game. Just watch.

No he won't, he has been fired and Tom Bradley has been named interim coach for the rest of the year.

If you don't believe this turn your TV to ESPN2 and listen to the BOT press confernce they are airing.

Re: Paterno to retire at seasons end

It's the right move to remove him from the coaching position now. It sucks for the current players, but to be honest sometimes life sucks and it was going to be a distraction no matter what they'll probably come out and win on Saturday.

It's also not a tragedy that Paterno won't coach anymore. The tragedy is that this even happened.
