Not sure how this will work. Any Rutger's lurkers wanna explain how this worked for their game there a couple weeks ago?

This is the most important aspect of the game.

Tailgating is banned at Yankee stadium (no alcoholic beverages or open barbecues) so pop and chips will have to do...

Yeah, tailgating is probably not a realistic option. I'd check out this place for pre game fun.

Ball Park Lanes - Concourse Village - Bronx, NY

It's my favorite place to hang out before Yankees games. It was right across the street from RF for the old stadium so it's a little bit of a walk away from the the new field but not far at all. Its very low key and if you want to get our bowl on you can. Shoot, I'd bet they'd even set up something for ISU fans if somebody from CF wanted to organize something official.

They also used to have a bag check service where you could leave a bag with them so you don't have to take it into the stadium with you. I wouldn't leave anything valuable with them obviously, but if you had a backpack with some extra clothing, food, water, etc. it's nice to be able to leave it there and pick it up later.

If this is true...

My view of the Pinstripe bowl has gone from bad, to mediocre, and now on to PATHETIC. Tailgating MAKES or BREAKS a good football game (not the game itself, but the entire event).

Hopefully it's not as bad as it sounds and there will be options for those of you making the trip.

Not true at all, the only rule we were made aware of was no grilling in parking garages. If you are outside you can grill, no rules against alcohol. We were in a cash lot a few blocks from the stadium and had a tailgate set up just like we do for home games.

Thank God I was about to flip. Can't get into bars yet, all I can do is tailgate :v_SPIN:

The only thing is the atmosphere isn't as good as it is at home. Instead of open grass lots for tailgating like we have at RU, everybody is scattered around the Bronx. I guess that's expected but we are used to tailgating like the below picture instead of in the middle of the city. I'm sure you guys will feel the same way, we made the best of it though.

By chance do you have any comparison pictures for your Home game tailgates and your game in NYC?

Don't have any pics of our tailgate at Yankee Stadium but it's mainly just a bunch of random lots or garages scattered around the stadium. Here's a few at RU, as you can tell i'm a student. One thing is for sure, there's going to be a lot of scarlet/red in the Bronx between both fanbases.

We parked on the top level of the 161st. Garage and we had a gas grill and alcohol is ok but you need to keep it in a cup. The parking attendants will come by to tell you the rules, just yes them to death and they are cool.

Stay away from the Harlem River Lots.
