Is anybody surprised by this? I am. I thought this would be a game we should compete in. Our guards are going to get pushed out of every game this year. This is awful basketball. He needs to sit Moody. She just doesn't get it.

I bet we beat KU at home. I don't see us any worse than 6-12 in conference. Add 9-2 non-conf and that's a minimum of 15-14 heading into the conference tournament.

I hope so. At least the sound and picture are fairly sync'ed on CloneZone.

That's very good. I haven't been listening so I didn't know. I have NFL audio on my TV up instead. I started watching WBB about 10 minutes (gametime) in, and by then it was obvious that the game wasn't going well, so I opted to listen to football instead.

We need to regroup for the upcoming stretch. The Big 12 schedule is brutal, but we are just exiting the worst part of it. How we play the next three games will mean a lot.

I'm guessing 33 points is the lowest in the Bill Fennelly era.

I remember a game where we scored 9 in the first half @ Tech. Looking it up, we still made it into the 40s in that game.
UConn a couple years ago was close... 36.

Edit- also in 03-04 we had a loss to drake where we had only 36. Same year we also lost to KSU, 68-33.

I believe 33 is the low mark of the Fennelly era though.

Scanning through cyclones.com schedules, i may have missed something, but i had to go back to Feb 16, 1993 to get a lower score. (79-29 colorado), and out of curiosity i kept going back, i couldnt find another lower score than 33 going back as far as i could to 75. So if that's correct itd be the lowest score in the Fennelly era, second lowest (tied) in 35 years.

Just got back from the game. It was one of the worst games I have ever seen them play in Hilton. This team has some real issues. It really seems like they are come apart at the seems right now. I really think that we will be lucky to make the WNIT.

It's a darn shame that we don't have one of our better teams when we had the opportunity to host 1 & 2 rounds and then play in Des Moines after that. In terms of home court advantage we would have never had a better road to get to a Final 4.

We played well at Kansas until we screwed up the first overtime inbound possesion by Kansas. Let the kansas player run down the court unchecked and shoot a 3 pointer to take it to the second overtime where we were definitely out-coached.

Team is severely lacking in confidence now.

Where were any offense schemes to set up our outside shooters? Dribbling around for 20 seconds almost every possesion got us nothing. Most of the time it resulted in a turnover, not even a shot.

IF we get to WNIT we will have to go on the road because Hilton is booked for NCAA's. Will suck to see Hilton have NCAA attendance probably the 3,000-4,000 range. If we would have been there would have been there it would probably have been around 12,000.

In 2002, ISU could have played 4 games in Hilton, but lost in the 2nd round.

Not necessarily. Remember 2004? ISU hosted 2 WNIT games, then NCAAs, then 2 more WNIT games. Oh, and the men played 2 NIT games in Hilton during that time as well.

WNIT - we would most likely play the first round at home, have to go on the road for the second round, and could then play at home.

2012 Dates
The 64-team field will be announced late Monday evening, March 12, 2012. The first round will kick off Wednesday, March 14, with the event culminating on Saturday, March 31 with the championship. Selection – Monday, March 12.
Round 1 – March 14-16.
Round 2 – March 17-19.-NCAA in Ames
Round 3 – March 21-23.
Round 4 – March 24-26.
Semifinals – March 28-29.
Championship – Saturday, March 31.

A team that is offered an automatic berth by the WNIT shall be the team that is a.) the highest-finishing team in its conference’s regular-season standings, and b.) is then not selected for the NCAA Tournament. It does not matter what the team’s overall record is. For the automatic qualifying berth, the WNIT believes that a team’s conference record is a more fair comparison among teams within their own conference, and that the conference record should pre-empt overall records among teams from the same conference. The automatic qualifying team is rewarded with the AQ spot for its in-conference play.
