Really hope we get the 3 seed

If we end up at 4, we'll more than likely play Texas Thursday and KU on Friday. At 3, we'd get either KSU or OSU and then MU. I think I like our chances against MU better than KU.

Baylor's remaining games - KSU, @Tex, OU, @TT, @ ISU
ISU's remaining games - OU, TT, @KSU, @MU, Bay

Not saying it can't be done, but overtaking Baylor will be difficult. OSU loss looming large right now. We are facing a very difficult draw.

I would prefer to avoid Kansas State. Their style can give us problems. I would prefer a matchup with Texas, Oklahoma, or Texas A&M. However, we are probably going to be in the 4 vs 5 game, matching us against KSt or Texas.

The top 3 (Mizzou, KU, and Baylor) will be tough but I'm guessing we'll be the four which would match us up with KU or Mizzou in the second round.

Hmmm. I can't see this. Baylor may not lose again. A lot of people are down on Baylor and Scott Drew, but the fact remains their only losses for the entire season are against top 5 teams. They are talented. I just hope we can beat them in the last game. Maybe they drop one at UT.

These last games will be exciting. I think KSU is toast, but UT scares me. If we finish 2-3 and have to play UT in the 4/5 game, I will be very nervous on Selection Sunday if we get bounced.

I would rather cheer for Baylor to beat UT and keep distance between ISU and UT in the standings than hope UT beats Baylor and we win 4 of 5 to forge a tie with Baylor for 3rd.

Either way, if we get our home wins, including a win over BU, I think we are safe no matter what happens in KC.

You are not going to avoid a difficult matchup in next round in KC no matter what. Either we are the 4 seed, and play KU/MU; or even if we are the 3rd seed, we end up playing KU/MU.

while i would like the 3 as well, i would put those chances at about 1%-5%

I could see Baylor losing to KSU and Texas. We'd obviously have to beat them as well. A win for us at KSU is a must. We have to finish 4-1 and hope Baylor goes 2-3. That would give us the 3 seed outright. I'm not sure how they determine the tiebreaker if we both finish with say 12 wins. I do think we have to win 12 games to have a realistic chance.

I think it's much more likely now that Texas is the 5 seed and KSU is the 6 seed. Texas has a much easier schedule and they are already a game up on KSU.

Agreed. Very good chance that's the matchup on Thursday. They've won four straight and played much better than our last game with them at their place.

I think i'd rather play UT than KSU anyways in the first game.

4 seems like a good slot if Texas holds on to the 5, then getting KU in the semis is the best matchup for us vs. the top 3.

Same here, especially if Babb can shut down Brown like he's done the past two games we've faced him.

I'm in this group as well. And even if we play KU the next game, at least we have beat them...Mizzou would be a terrible matchup IMO unless we get them in the final, then their lack of depth could prove costly.

Yeah, i'm not afraid of KU.. no game is going to be easy when youre in the semifinals\finals, and we've done well against KU this year, winning at home and damn near did it on the road. If we could get Texas, then KU, then Mizzou in the title game, that would probably be the best path for us (assuming we won each game as we went along).

Texas remaining schedule:

@OSU, W
vs BU, L
@ TT, W
vs OU, W
@ KU, L

3-2, finish 10-8

K-State remaining schedule:

@ BU, L
@ Mizz, L
vs ISU, W
@ ATM, W
vs OSU, W

3-2, finish 9-9

ISU remaining schedule:

vs OU, W
vs TT, W
@ KSU, L
@ Mizz, L
vs BU, W

3-2, finish 11-7

Baylor remaining schedule:

vs KSU, W
@ UT, W
vs OU, W
vs TT, W
@ ISU, L

4-1, finish 13-5

Baylor likely ends up at 3, we're at 4, Texas at 5, and KSU at 6.

If Texas beats Baylor, Baylor is still a 3 but Texas might slide into 4 instead of us (not sure how the tiebreaker shakes out).

If we can take care of business at home against OU and TT, beat KSU or Mizz on the road and beat Baylor at home, we have #4 locked up. No matter what, though, I think our first round game is almost certainly going to be against UT, even if we slide down to 5.

if we tied 11-7 with Texas we would be the 4, has to do with strength of best win i think, so as long as KU stays at 1 or 2 and Texas doesnt beat them at KU we would have the edge

It doesn't matter who we play --- one game at a time and just win baby

Just holding on to the 4th seed is not going to be easy

Yep. Pretty much as long as UT wins 10 or less and loses to KU, we'll get 4th by the KU tiebreaker (UT is 0-2 vs Mizzou, and odds-wise we more than likely will be too).

If somehow that is still tied it falls to Baylor (both are 0-1 with a home game vs baylor remaining) then KSU (UT is 1-1, we're 1-0 with @KSU remaining) then OSU (ISU 1-1, UT 1-0, @OSU remaining)
