The profile CW linked is his one from 2011.

Even so, based on that profile, he is being recruited by two schools that he's already been to and us. You have to think we have a very solid shot with him.

Clearly there was something about St. John's that he was attracted to. His buddy plays at SDSU, plus they are close and of course the weather/coeds/etc.

But I doubt either of these two schools have an atmosphere like Hilton and our team right now seems extremely close and positive. Hopefully Matt Thomas is in the house Saturday to do some recruiting damage along with Lucious and Clyburn.

I get uncomfortable when we suck.

Recruiting over current players is a necessary evil.

Nobody said we shouldn't recruit him - or any better players. But let the coaches and players work out the better or worse in practice and the games.

It's unseemly to say, "Railey sucks, throw him under the bus." Especially when this recruit is only a recruit and not signed.

THANK YOU! It's pretty dam apparent that Railey is not a big 12 talent and wont be getting quality minutes unless he improves significantly. He got 2 free years of college to be a basketball player, yet he never plays. If he wants to stay on the ISU bball team next year as a walk on, then sweet, he must really love ISU. But he could also go to most mid majors and start or some smaller D-1 school and have a good career. He's not terrible, he's just not a big 12 talent.

Does this happen? Sure. "Son, I know you want playing time and I want you to play too - just at another school" Is it right? No, there is no reason to name players by name and call out your perception of their ability and/or potential, sure its curious that they seem to be over recruiting available scholarships, but I totally disagree with denegrating specific players. I know that will happen too, but doesn't make it right either.

Let me get this straight (rather than reading 20m pages). He was at UConn, was declared ineligible before the season, and then left school?

So........technically, he's a transfer?

Shoot!!! Not ANOTHER transfer?!!!!

those never work out for us....
wish Fred could sign some decent high school players...

This guy looks pretty dang good even though all I saw were dunks/blocks in his highlight videos. If he wants to come, tell Railey he can stay, but as a walk-on. Realistically speaking, he will never contribute with the type of talent we having coming in along with the recruits we are going after. If he can't contribute this year, I dont know what would make him think he can next year with all of our posts returning + Georges Niang. And for all of you sissies telling people not to talk about current players, sorry for being a realist and wanting what's best for the program.

there is two rivals profiles of him
When he was in high school he was the #1 center in high school that year
here is that profile
Norvel Pelle - Yahoo! Sports

now there is rivals profile of him at this time as well where it shows St Johnn, ISU, and SDSU
still 5 stars

Norvel Pelle - Yahoo! Sports

Okay...just noticed something here. I checked his profile this morning. Iowa State was not listed, and he was 4 star. Now, Iowa State is listed and he's a 5 star?!?!

Isn't he supposed to be listed as a 3 star now? Or is that just football recruits?
