Either way, the smart money is on Texas.
You can take TX, I'll take my guys to win.

It's win or go home for everyone at this point no matter what all the talking heads are saying about how TX might want it more. We didn't beat Baylor and get the 3 seed just so it would look nice on the tourney resume. Our guys WANT TO WIN!!!

Iowa State beat the spread in 14 of their 18 conference games this year

Vegas does not respect the Cyclones

not true, majority of bettors are on ISUs side, about 60% of them. The spread still moving in favor of Texas.

So that means either Vegas loves Texas, and wants more people to take ISU which they do sometimes, or the majority of fans are on ISU, and the big money guys are on texas.

Majority of the bettors or majority of the money?

It has nothing todo with being smart, it is splitting the bets 50-50 making money on the commission

And finding the perfect line to get that 50/50 split requires no skill and is done completely randomly? There's a reason they don't lose money often in Vegas and its not luck!

I stand corrected. I should have simply said money and left people out of it. As I said before, it is all about the Benjamins.

This. Big money guys betting on Texas and the fact that most on this site (me included) thought we should be favored shows that they may know something we don't which is why I'm a little nervous about the game

This is why Texa$ is favored

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrzdWla8st8"]UT vs. CU - Ref fist pump[/ame]

Get ready for a foulfest on defense, charges galore against Scotty, and a jungle in the lane when we have the ball with no whistles.

The bets determine the spread, that is why it changes. They don't lose money because they pocket the commission.

I understand that but its got to start somewhere and it's not like it changes greatly. They don't like to change the line often once its set becuase then it sets up the double payout for anything that hits in between.

Vegas loses money on bad lines all of the time. The skill is in the initial opening.

This simply can't be. Cydkar started a thread a few days ago stating emphatically that Texas has absolutely no chance.

I bet on ISU thereby nullifying all previous "Texas has no chance" statements.

The "smart money" has actually gone against us a lot this year..The good news is they've consistently been getting burned. We've only lost against the spread 3 times in conference play.

Anybody know the spread on the Alcorn State vs. Prairie View A&M game. Just wondering where the smart money was bet because 9 win Alcorn State is up 55-17 2 minutes into the 2nd half. OUCH!
