just listened to UConn's postgame. What a bunch of arrogant POS. No credit given to our guys. None. the only reason they lost was lack of effort.

Newsflash calhoun...you are a mediocre team playing in an overrated conference. your"great play" the last two weeks was against mediocre to poor teams. you were a bubble team that squeaked in. you and your big east brethren benefit from the media being in your backyard and you believe the hype. ISU was third in an underrated conference. we were a horrible match up for you. Hoiberg out coached you. your gameplan for white allowed a double double and left open shooters.

in short... the better. team won. the least you can do is give some props you arrogant SOB

I hope this isn't true. I was hoping that UCONN was really good since we just curbed stomped them.

Why is our fan base so sensitive!?

“I’m as surprised as anybody,â€￾ Calhoun said. “I imagine our players are, too.

“Fred and the Iowa State team showed up at a different speed, a different level than what we played.

“At times we certainly made a dent and came back, but the opening few minutes kind of set the tone for the game. .. Give them all the credit, Iowa State. There weren’t too many ways in which they didn’t beat us tonight.â€￾

Just another ISU fan with tender balls and short man's disease (no confidence and always looking for respect). When oh when will the ISU fan base lick that dreaded affliction?

Really seems like he might just retire now. Between his health problems, no post-season play next year, and the general poor performance of this year's team, might as well cut his losses and leave while his national championship is still a pretty recent memory.

On Wednesday night Scott Saville from KCRG sports said that UConn was the "cockiest tournament team that I had ever seen". I love that we handed it to that group of overpaid goons.

Lamb missing the dunk at the end was the PERFECT finish.

I thought Calhoun was respectable and graceful towards us last night. He gave us credits and the statement that "they played faster" just showed that if you haven't seen the Cyclones playing in front of you, you can be surprised of how fast they actually are.
I was surprised to see him use 2 time outs with 13 mins left in the 2nd - just showed that he panicked a little bit ?

I heard all of these too. Calhoun at least tried to go out with a little dignity, but I found it amusing that he was going for the Technical at the end of the game by lighting up one of the officials. He gave us credit, but had more to say about how his team lost the game....and why wouldn't he? He's the coach of UConn, not Iowa State.

...and yes, the Lamb "windfail" dunk was priceless and hilarious!

I'm in Louisville right now typing this out from my hotel room. That was pure bush league by Lamb and the whole arena (besides UCONN fans) pointed and laughed when he missed that. The Kentucky fans who were still there LOVED it.

On an aside, I've found Kentucky fans to be awesome! Very friendly people, very respectful of our 'Clones, and to a man and woman last night they were all cheering for us. They do NOT like UCONN or Calhoun.

That was an awesome game to watch live last night. Iowa State basketball is back!

Take what you will out of the press conference but Calhoun may have been disappointed that the season ended the way it did and possibly his career.

Also, I was on the boneyard last night and a lot of them agreed that the windmill dunk was a pretty bad move and a fitting end to their season.
