Bubu should get a ship

Bubu is what college hoops SHOULD be about. With 2 open scholarships this spring and 5 open next fall IMO Hoiberg should reward Bubu for his dedication to Cyclone hoops the last 3 years.

Bubu will prbably never be a starter but he is a quality backup PG. There is no guarantee that Naz Long will be beter than Bubu. I also see improvement in Bubu each year. I'll take the known quantity.

If we had unlimited scholarships, sure, but what Bubu does is easily replaced. It'd be much more valuable to have that scholarship available to address a need that this team has, such as an additional big.

How you figure? We have no open scholarships this Spring and only 2 for next Fall...which we are actively recruiting for.

Bubu came in as a walk on, and was promised ZERO years of scholarships. Fred doesn't owe him anything in particular. He has done enough to earn a scholly, IMO, if there isn't a better option available. If there is, then we have to go in that direction.

Fred wants ISU to win B12 and NCAA championships. To do that, we have to get better players than we currently have. Bubu, is a nice guy and a great story, but a borderline B12 scholarship player.

There are thousands of HS basketball players that are "nice guys" and who work hard, and that doesn't mean we owe them scholarships.

Those 2 scholarships will be filled this spring (for the fall). The next round of scholarships will be filled during the fall (for the next year).

He's only a Sophomore.

Yes, I know, but his wording sucked and made it sound like we had open scholarships right now with Railey/Sledge leaving.

He also had Bubu as having played for ISU for 3 years...all kinds of confusion in that post....maybe he's had more to drink tonight that I have....Speaking of which....bartender!

As much as some people want bubu to get one of them, I think we know he won't.
