i believe once he gets on campus that he'll be a better player. I think once he sheds some weight and turns it into muscle you'll see more elevation and better release on his shot. But the kid is a steal seeing how there were reports over the summer of schools trying to get him to decommit

He's already improved athletically a lot. The first videos of him he could barely get the ball over the rim in practice. Video of him this year has him dunking over people and swatting some shots.

Georgesfan, how long ago did Georges stop growing or is there a chance that he might still get taller?

Still growing?, not likely. I don't think that Georges' athletic ceiling has been reached. I am just glad that what he has to work on the most is not his shooting and post moves. Strength and conditioning are easier to work on than basketball ability and IQ.

I will do my part and pledge not to send him any cookies.

That's what I thought. Thanks for responding.

I have to agree; with a S&C coach to work with, he can make a lot of improvement on his body for the Big 12.

Bball IQ is irreplaceable. I don't want to name names (most clone fans can name a few), but we've seen some super athletes who just can't quite figure it out.

Don't skimp on the cookies! I'm sure he'll appreciate them. And I'm sure the training staff will have him burning a lot of calories.... Which makes me wonder how much food it takes to feed a typical 6'-8" D1 post man who spends 4 hrs a day in the gym... The grocery bill has to pile up.

I gues that's one advantage to not being a big athlete... Probably the only one, though.

Feeding him will now be Iowa State's problem. Hooray for meal plans!

Reminds me a lot of Doug McDermott.

About the same size, not overly athletic, but crafty and quick. Good moves, smart player, good mid and long range shooting.

I'm excited to see what he can do next year!

Another note to add: he is really good with his left hand. His post game is very complete for a kid that age because he does not favor one side.

That left handed baby hook is a thing of beauty.

thanks for chiming in. His footwork and post moves are amazing for senior in highschool. Very crafty and clever player. Is he really a legit 6'8?

First, thank you for the admiration. Can never have too many Georges fans.

Last time he was measured (August, 2011) he was 6'7". We haven't measured him since then. Someone else posted the 6'8" comment.

I will keep you posted if there are any significant changes.

That's a good comparison and the first I've seen it mentioned.

His quick up reminds me a lot of Royce, ball handling probably not as good but his long range accuracy was something that RW did not bring to the table. Great video, very encouraging.
