Regarding speculation and reports about ACC schools jumping or trying to jump to the Big 12, Radakovich said that “a lot of folks write things that are on the Internet that may or may not have great qualifications to do so. I found out two days ago that I was in Dallas, and I wasn’t.”

That said, Radakovich said that he and school president G.P. “Bud” Peterson “continue to monitor the situation. We look at it from Georgia Tech’s standpoint and the Atlantic Coast Conference’s standpoint. We do discuss it, look at the landscape.”

He doesn’t foresee change in membership, reiterating the unanimity expressed by league members in support of the league.

He said that expansion “could be” part of the ACC’s future, but noted that the league’s expansion committee is not meeting and wouldn’t unless commissioner John Swofford re-activated the committee. The league probably wouldn’t make any moves at least until the football playoff format is resolved.

They are going to get left out in the cold as far as the new BCS/whatever its going to be callled, so they'll look to expand for Basketball and try to replace the ACC as the premier bball conference.

Big East media deal estimated worth at $60million per year? That is only about $4million per school.

Based on a future 14-member football league (in 2015, the Big East adds Navy as a football-only member and has plans to add a 14th school, preferably Air Force or BYU) and an 18-member basketball league, the media rights deal would be worth the following amounts per school annually:

A $130 million deal per year (as speculated by Pilson) would be worth $8.66 million each for the 10 full members; $6.5 million each for the four football-only members (Boise State, San Diego State, Navy and TBA); and $2.16 million each for the eight non-football members.

A $60 million deal per year (as speculated by CBSSports.com's sources, slightly better than their low end) would be worth $4 million each for the 10 full members; $3 million each to the four football-only members; and $1 million each to the eight non-football members.

If the Big East's deal is the lower amount, it certainly would stun based on recent projections from Boise State, San Diego State and Memphis officials

Well just visited FSU message board mixed emotions, but most looking to move to the Big Twelve. Plus some were saying the Clemson AD had a different tune today before the BOT meeting not sure what though to me thinking on looking at other conferences (cough Big Twelve.)

To me this just like last year except we are in awesome shape!! Mizzou and A&M were saying/doing the same thing and look they are gone (thank goodness.) I think it will happen, didn't a couple three weeks ago now different story.

Go Big Twelve finally we have some balls and are being aggressive.

Clemson’s Board of Trustees met in Columbia Thursday afternoon in an effort to discuss the rumors swirling around the university and possible conference realignment, and in an exclusive interview with TigerNet, Chairman David Wilkins talked about what was discussed in the meeting.

The board called an executive session so they could close the doors, and Wilkins said the board covered a variety of topics.

“In general, we talked about athletics,” Wilkins told TigerNet shortly after the board was dismissed from the meeting. “But we called an executive session and we talked about the ACC contract and the television contract. We didn’t talk about that in great detail. We talked about the general status of conferences right now, and at the very end we talked about tuition and fees for the upcoming school year. Those were the various subjects.”

Wilkins said another reason for the meeting was to help separate fact from fiction, especially where conference realignment and a potential move to the Big 12 are concerned.

“We tried to separate te facts from the rumors,” he said. “This board is very committed to Clemson athletics and Clemson sports. We want Clemson teams to be the best they can be. We are very interested in a football program that is selling at a high level, and we would consider, as we should, any viable option from any conference if we received any. We have not received any. In the meantime we are committed to working the ACC the strongest conference possible. We took no votes and took no action, we just had a general discussion about the lay of the land.”

Wilkins then said that the school would be interested in what other conferences have to say, should they make contact.

“If we were contacted by a conference, we would obviously listen to what they had to say,” Wilkins said. “And then we would make a reasonable decision. We aren’t seeking that, and we aren’t making any overtures about that. I think we have a responsibility to consider any viable component that would come our way. But we haven’t been contacted by anybody. We just want Clemson athletics to be the best they can be. This board is committed to Clemson athletics.”

The full comments sound a lot better than those tweeted excerpts... the tweets make it sound like Clemson is more ACC leaning, the full comments seem more like regent-speak.

It's been my experience that trustees *typically* don't hold surprise secret meetings to say how much they love their commish.
