Not exactly an update on expansion but something interesting that will inevitably lead to more speculation. The Big 12 has apparently talked to Slive and he has stated that a 14 team conference is a nightmare. I am not sure this means he is looking to round the conference out to 16 teams or if he is telling the Big 12 they are better off staying at 12. Either way it is an interesting statement coming from him.

Bowlsby should offer to take Florida and Alabama off his hands if 14 teams is really that bad :jimlad:

Maybe he can give us a couple of teams to round us both off at 12. How about Arkansas and LSU :peek:

Go to 12 and stay. Round Robin and playing everyone twice in Bball is nice and all, but not having a Conference Championship screwed over arguably the best football conference from the NC and another BCS bowl.(SEC was obviously more top heavy)

Yeah, not sure why anyone thinks FSU isn't coming. It's about more than money. The SEC/Big XII bowl makes the Big XII a no brainer for an ACC football school like FSU.

Well, this quote doesn't make it sound like Clemson is on the verge of making a jump. We'll see, but I am beginning to think that the Dude of West Virginia, the Clemson blogger (Corey Favel or something like that), the Baylor Blogger (Brian Ethridge) and others were full of hot air and wishful thinking. We all know that Swaim is full of hot air based on previous expansion rumors. Hope I'm wrong, but even if you wanted to deny rumors as a smoke screen, you just wouldn't bash the conference you are considering like the FSU president and now Clemson HFC have done. That said, I am fine with 10 for now in the Big 12, so long as the grant of rights is extended.

Dabo is clearly ill informed. Being the ACC champ doesn't mean **** for NC contenders. It makes perfect sense considering Clemson's potential windfall and association with the Champions Bowl.

Dado:
Yeah Boss?
We need you to categorically deny the rumors to the Big 12, say recruits prefer the ACC, etc.
Dado: Why?
Well because we aren't sure about this thing, you know the Big 12 may only want 12 and we hear Notre Dame is still lurking.
Dado: uh oh...not good, all of the class I recruited thinks we are in...
I know - say something like you are 1000% behind the ACC, that will throw off the locals - they don't understand there is no such thing as 1000%.
Dado: Got it Boss.
Ok - go forward young man. Just remember if Notre Dame and Florida State leave us behind, we CAN win championships in the ACC/Big East.
Dado: Yep I know - great resume builder too.
