Never liked mustard much. It just doesn't taste right to me, no matter the type. Ketchup is fine in a pinch for most things, but ranch is my fave. I use it on sandwiches instead of mayo - awesome. Ranch works for so many different things like chicken strips, fries, veggies, burgers, wings, etc. I usually buy the ranch with bacon bits in it - even better (but maybe not so healthy).

Running a little non scientific inquiry after a discussion with my wife. I just told her I've never met a man that didn't like mustard. She thinks I am full of it (I am), but on this topic I think I'm pretty close to hitting the nail on the head.

Also, out of curiosity, if you are a man and you do not like mustard, what is your favorite condiment? Ketchup? Mayo? Ranch? Something else?

Thanks.

Apparently I am the solo man who doesn't like mustard but I love a condiment not named here. Just don't do mustard.

What I like: Salsa, especially hot salsa. I have a shaker filled with ground habaneros which I use frequently. I think I'll just keep my man card even tho we haven't met.

Like mustard. Particularly like Boetje's stone ground mustard, but I'll use just about any kind of mustard.

Boetje's is good on a nice ham sandwich.

That said, I love pretty much all kinds of mustard, I'm not too picky...

Most of these options don't make sense; if you don't like mustard, you're not a man, so you can pretty much collapse options 2 through 6 into "NO! I am not a man."

I'm a man [I'm 40], and I enjoy mustard occasionally, but I don't typically buy it or go out of my way to get it.

Sort of on the same topic, the best meats are those that don't need any sauce.

I love mustard as a cooking ingredient in fine foods and marinades.

But I think it's completely disgusting to drench any sandwich in the mustard, ketchup, mayo and ranch that most of the world seems to absolutely love. Mustard's actually healthy compared to those others but the general condiment loading culture makes us a fatter nation as well.

Outside of a bbq beef brisket sandwich with just bbq sauce, load up my sandwich, burger or dog with meat, cheese and veggies but leave off all the slimy crap that hides the flavor. I love Chicago dogs with all the veggies (pickle, peppers, tomato, onion) but hold the mustard and relish.

Completely agree. Mustard is the only condiment I use and I wouldn't use it if it were chocked full of fat or sodium (which it is not). The more veggies I can load on my sandwich or wrap the better.

Can't beat this. Unless it's leftover turkey on wheat with lettuce and yellow. I was going to start a thread a while back asking what everybody's favorite yellow mustard was between Plochman's, French's and Kraft. I prefer Plochman's, but like them all.

I prefer french's but I will buy Plochmans. Not a fan of the tiny bottles though.

As condiments go, I like ketchup and mustard the best. Not really a fan of mayo or ranch but I will eat it in salads.

My husband will, and has, spit out anything that tastes of mustard. I do use it in cooking to add a depth of flavor, but it can't taste like mustard. He's very manly otherwise:smile:
