I didn't realize Kingston was so big. Do any CR schools fill it?

What are the best HS Stadiums in IA? I've always loved the characted of Dodger stadium in FD.
Newton is a dump but a beast to play at.
Like the setting of Ames High.
I've been to a ton of small schools with great atmospheres. Small stands with people standing 4 deep around the place.
Ankeny might have the worst stadium. I'm hoping they do something about that with 2 schools next year.
Didn't linnMar just build a very nice one?

I went to crWash and big rivalry games against teams like crKennedy would get the place maybe 70% full. It's a pretty impressive facility for high school athletics IMO. But it's very 1950s utilitarian no aesthetic value whatsoever.

So is a community that values non-returning assets and non-sustainable debt programs to fund their entertainment.

Disagree on the non-returning asset factor. This stadium could potentially host 1-AA championship games, other NCAA FB games at the D2 and D3 level, and a multitude of TX HS playoff games for both FB and soccer. Admission fees from all these events plus Allen's own HS games will help fund athletic and academic programs.

Hopefully they've renovated the locker rooms... those things were pretty nasty when I played there.

Will the fill the place? I know my brother goes to alot of games at Prosper HS which is fairly close to Allen and the stadium doesn't even come close to filling.

To all the people trying to say this community has its priorities messed up, you should maybe head over to Google and take a closer look. From what I can find, the Allen school district has a graduation rate near 99%, test scores way above state and national averages, a huge number of AP programs, and as was already mentioned in this thread strong support of the arts as well. This doesn't look like a case of a crazy community worshiping at the alter of football, it looks like a community that understands the importance of a quality school system and isn't afraid to pay up for it. Good for them.

This facility will be used for tons of competitions and events beyond just the Allen football team. This will be a true asset for the community. They agreed to fund it, they will reap the rewards of it, they will foot the bill for it. This is the way it should work.

Unless you've been there it can be difficult to understand the fervor for HS football in TX. Two examples:

1.My sister in law lives in one of the eastern suburbs of Dallas and a local high shcool there has a weight room IDENTICAL to the University of Nebraska's.

2. I once met a kid who was a QB at a small rural HS in West TX. His dad went to Louisianna, found and recruited a woman who had two sons that were offensive linemen. He paid to move them to TX and got her a job so his kid would have a decent O-line. The kid was all of 5'9" and was no way college material.

I will give you a quick difference between Prosper and Allen:

Prosper is a 4A school with an enrollment of 1250 in a community of about 13K people

Allen is a 5A school with an enrollment of 5300 in a community of 85K people

Basically Allen's band and drill team combined are only 300 shy of being the entire student body of Prosper High School

Also the first game of the year is going to be against Southlake Carroll who is the defending state champ and 5A powerhouse the expected crowd is SRO around 20K.

Allen has been consistently filling their 14K seat stadium that were playing in so yes they will be able to fill it just fine.

Was tight end for SC in 5th grade for Carroll Intermediate - full cheerleading squad for the team and had about 300'ish roughly spectators each game. It's for real

Post second season update:
Allen ISD’s $60 Million Football Stadium Closed For Months « CBS Dallas / Fort Worth

Allen ISD is closing its $60 million dollar high school football stadium for “evaluationâ€￾ after extensive cracking was found in the elevated concourse.
The district has now ordered a review of the entire facility, which is only about year and a half old.
the district describes the cracks as more pervasive and wider than what would be normal with foundation cracking, anywhere from 1/4″ to 3/4
