I interned two summers in Dallas. One of the engineers was a squakeye and lived in Allen. His son played football and I remember him saying getting extra tickets was difficult. I think his son was being recruited by Iowa (or at least was going to hawk football camps). Can't remember anything except the Kidman first name, Russ. Not sure if he ever made it or not. This was back in the summer of 2002 or 2003. Cool story, I know.

Post second season update:
Allen ISD’s $60 Million Football Stadium Closed For Months « CBS Dallas / Fort Worth

Yeah, I live just five miles south of Allen. I happened to be at the high school - right next to the stadium - yesterday afternoon for an orchestra contest that my son was in. I saw a news truck with their camera shooting toward the stadium. That was just as the story was breaking evidently as I head the breaking news when I got back home.

One thing for sure, there's going to be some lawyers making some bucks on this one.

Seeing those money men break ground is hilarious. They won't touch hard work like that again for the whole project.
It’s funny to me they are “breaking ground” on an area a dozer has already been doing dirt work.

Back to the topic, these facilities just adds to my view that Texas is the most stupid and absurd state of them all!!

This is my kid's high school fieldhouse in Wisconsin that they've had since 2017.

Definitely over the top, but since they sent us AJ Klein, I'm good with it.

People with money to burn. More power to them I guess.
Can't remember where I read it but supposedly Melissa, TX might be the next town in that area to "blow up" since Frisco & Prosper may not have much more room to be built up. Maybe they are getting ahead of the growth?

You are correct. Melissa is on 75 just north of McKinney. It won't be "modest size" for long.
