Another power forward that Iowa State has offered is ready to cut his list down to 5-6, 2013 Jordan Mickey from Texas is visiting LSU & SMU yet this month before cutting his list before the end of August. According to Adam Zagoria, Ohio State, Louisville and SMU are likely to be 3 of those 5-6 while the other spots remain pretty much wide open.

Haven't heard too much here between Iowa State and Mickey, while I can't rule it out at this point it appears to be a long shot that Mickey's short list includes the Cyclones.

I'm starting to get worried about our post recruiting again. Hopefully Hoiberg will come through like he did with MT and MM

I'm not someone who knows a lot about the x and o's of basketball, but it seems to me post players are becoming less important in modern basketball. I feel much better having two solid guards with no post player, rather then two post players with no solid guards

Personally I would prefer, Monte, MattyIce plus a SF, PF, and C added for '13.

Adam Zagoria had an update with Jordan Mickey's dad at the Big Strick Classic today, naming off schools vying for the final few spots on his short-list: “Rounding it out, we got Arkansas, Alabama, Providence, LSU, TCU, Oklahoma State and West Virginia for those last two slots,” he said. “There’s a lot more.”

While Iowa State is likely labeled under 'a lot more' as I mentioned previously it appears unlikely that the Cyclones will be on the short-list for Mickey which won't come as a surprise to most.

Reggie Cameron is visiting Seton Hall tomorrow with Chris McCullough.

Source? If there is one thing I've gotten used to and that everyone should do when posting information is that you should provide a source!! I'm sure you didn't talk to each of them to know that they are visiting...

:wideeyed: Just bustin' your chops gocubs...

I think if the coaching staff was really concerned we would see them offering more mid-major, project-type bigs. A lot of the guys we're chasing just haven't made decisions. We have a good shot of getting one of Martin, Washington, Hunter, and Stevens, and if not, we'll have plenty of playing time to offer a transfer or a 2014 recruit that can come in and play immediately.

I would really love to land Hunter and Washington. Hunter has really come on strong this summer. I hope we got a visit from Hunter soon and that Washington going to Brewster will help as well. That would be my dream class with Thomas and Morris. I think Hunter will slide into the Rivals Top 100 as well.

I wouldn't mind Stevens...couldn't hurt to even out the classes a bit

A guy that can give you 15 minutes of defense and rebounding with the occasional layup or, preferably, dunk, is really what we need if we aren't going to get a guy that's able to legitimately compete with Niang or Gibson.

Apparently there was a 5-Star bball camP this weekend, in which some Romulus/ REACH players attended. Kris Clyburn is listed as a "player to watch" here: Five-Star Basketball Chicago Super Session Aug 10-12 Day 1 & 2 Five-Star Basketball Camp

Also, Will tweeted something a day or two ago that his "lil bro" was coming to Ames this week. Not sure if that's Terrell or Kris...

Take this for what it's worth. I'm just here to stir the pot!
