Recruit Lists » Highlights Update

Also, a highlight of walk-on Cam Fowler: Recruit Lists » Incoming Cyclone Freshman Cam Fowler

And a recent interview and highlight of 2015 Henry Ellenson: Recruit Lists » 2015 Henry Ellenson

Vaughn looks borderline ridiculous in that video. Yes please.

I know it's silly to think about, sense we aren't interested anymore, but Vaughn would be a ridiculous get.

I'd be stoked if we could get these Minnesota kids in the next couple years.. Vaughn and Reid for 2014.. Johnson and Ellenson 2015

Well, Ellenson is technically a Wisconsin kid (Rice Lake, WI) but there is no doubt the talent pool in nearby states is impressive for the next few years! There is even a few Iowa kids to watch that are up and coming for 2015 and beyond...

Chris Babb's younger brother Nick Babb is currently in Ames to hang out with his brother and check out the campus. Iowa State has shown interest in the 2014 small forward who has been gaining steam in his recruiting.

According to Eric Bossi, Nick Babb has offers from UT-Arlington, Utah State, Creighton and Rice. Iowa State, Texas A&M, Houston, SMU, Texas and TCU are showing interest. He has been added to the 2014 Recruit List

Another Babb? Sign him up. I see a whole new generation of offensive players ready to get Babbed!

I know some of the National Media have mentioned ISU and Midwest in general lacks local talent ans thus is a tough place to recruit. However, looking at the top player coming from Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan in the upcoming years, the Ames location actually may be becoming a proximity benefit.

To that point even in the recent past the state Iowa has been producing high major talent. Barnes 2 years ago, Woodbury last year (based on offers and Nat’l ranking not his choice of school:jimlad:), and Paige this year. I know this year the cupboard is a little bare but there is promise for our HS programs to produce good players is trending up. This area isn't basketball fly over country anymore.

Just another reason to like the potential of Fred and Staff to keep building this program and it is and will be fun to watch.

Interesting about Nick Babb. I believe someone was asking about him this past winter/ spring in this thread. Would be a cool story if he ends up here.

First it was Clyburns little brother, now Babbs little brother. Does Royce have a little brother we don't know about. Then we could actually consider ourselves "Little Brother":perr:

Yeah, I wouldn't mind some legacies as long as they can play, and with young Babb list of interests it would appear he can. One thing is for sure, he watched Hilton games this year, there will be no need to introduce him to the meaning of "Hilton Magic". Especially with the eruption of the crowd after the 3 ball to clinch the Kansas game his big Bro sunk.

With the guys we appear to be in on for 2014 I'll be a bit surprised if he gets an early offer. Of course, I've never seen him play.

I know we have been trying to get "in" on a lot of east coast kids, with some success, but I sometimes wonder why we did not try to augment our apparent base of WI, MN, and MI and prep school (Brewster) with a concentration on Texas/Big 12 country?

As long as he gets a scholarship based on his own merit, I think it would be a great get. Guys like this are always good on your team because they many times have a further level of attachment to the team than most. To many, we are just a scholarship and a certain coach. Also, if we somehow end up with him and he pans out, I can't help but feel like it is another stick into the side of Penn State. I hope they already miss Chris. Of course, we've been on the other side of the fence with transfers many times ourselves in the past. Lots better to be on the benefit side now.
