In watching most of the Kstate vs KU game last week and catching a lot of Kstate games the past year does anyone thing Author Brown is a little overrated on the national ranking list for LB's personally I think Klein and Knott are both better but in every LB ranking from draft projections to all-American lists A Brown is always higher. I get the speed factor from the NFL draft perspective, I think Knott and Klein offer more tangibles. Again don't beat me up on this, Author Brown does tally up the tackles is all-American worthy but to me Knott and Klein are better....,

Arthur Brown is a stud. He is as good, probably more athletic than Knott or AK. Lucky for us we have 2 and they have 1.

Arthur Brown is better than both Knott and Klein individually IMO. Add them together though and it isn't close.

From what I've seen, he's probably not as instinctive/knowledgeable as AJ or Jake, but he makes up for it with better speed. I've only watched him in 2 games this year, but that would also partially explain why he gets so many tackles (using his speed to make up for taking longer to make the read), but doesn't get many ints because he doesn't have the instinct to jump a route.

Brown is more athletic, I think Klein has more intangibles and is a harder hitter, reads offenses better, etc. Brown's athleticism and speed is what makes him a desired NFL prospect. Klein makes tons of tackles b/c he always reads the defense really well and knows where to be, its not because he's extremely fast or overly athletic, he's just a really smart football player and is extremely tough. I think Klein is the better LB overall, but I'd take Brown for this team anyday

Defense is played as a team. You obviously want the best players possible, but I'd rather have the better unit than the better player.

I think the self-depracating Cyclones are out in force today. Commentators have been raving about how fast Knott and Klein are sideline to sideline. Look at the interceptions that both are able to make around the field. Arthur Brown is fast from a to b. He can't drop into coverage, doesn't wrap up, and doesn't read/react as well as the two Ks. And the difference in atheleticism isn't as great as people on here are making it out to be. Arthur Brown is highly regarded because he is producing, but also because he was suppossed to as a 5 star recruit. It validates all the crap they have to post in the off-season if they say he is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Totally agree, and still think he is overrated, to me game smart and fundamentals trump athleticism, which to me is the difference between them, all three will be at the next level next year but to me Knott and Klein offer better NFL options in the end....

Tuggle should be in this conversation he has been excellent as well. No clue why he hasn't been mentioned in the thread yet. I don't think KSU would be bad if they had stuck with him at QB instead of Collin Klien (but Kleins durability running inside is remarkable.) Boston College were morons for booting him and Dominic Davis (along with their entire secondary and Montel Harris all time ACC leading rusher or close to it basically for no reason.)

I think since Tuggle is so athletic him and Brown together form a similar partnership to Jake and AJ.

Brown is smaller than AJ and Jake. I think both are superior NFL prospects to him. AJ is phenominal in coverage for a guy his size and his instincts are awesome. I believe Jake gets by more on his combination of athleticism and size. But this year he is playing extremely well to the point that he might get himself drafted before Klein which is a hell of an achievement.

But yeah, Brown is a very good player but I don't think he is any better than Tuggle and both are similar very athletic and a little undersized (although Brown won't get criticized for that because hes a ballyhooed recruit.)

Brown is a little bigger than a safety. He is not even close to big enough for linebacker at the next level. He is fast.

Knott and kline are both better linebackers.

The more I watch AJ Klein the more I think he's the second coming of Chad Greenway.

For the record, AJ is listed this year at 6'2" 244#. Greenway is listed as 6'2" 242#.

I am sure if AJ cut his hair he would lose two pounds and they would weigh the same. Although AJ wouldn't look nearly as fast and probably not be as good.

He doesn't need to be he plays inside linebacker as opposed to outside like greenway, I think knott is a better comparison to greenway.

The next level will tell me who is better. The NFL always decides your talent level. But I like our guys.
