Agreed, but every time something comes up, the sky is falling posts sprout from everywhere. Just had that sound to it. But you are right, we are ISU so it's the world we live in.

I do not think the sky is falling with Lazard and hope he is solid and keeps his commitment to Iowa State, but until that day comes its not a for sure thing. Big programs like Oregon etc. will throw things at him that Iowa State can't, but we offer a lot as well just got to see it for yourself.

If I got free visits why not see the country and other campuses.

Someone asked him yesterday on twitter why take official visits to other campuses if you are committed. His response. "Why not travel the country meeting new people for free. Also could possibly influence other prospects to switch.

This is a non-premium quote from the Oregon 24/7 Sports site:

He said a long time ago that he would take officials to a few SEC schools and something like "a school out west" but he didn't specify which because he didn't know. The quote came off as saying he wanted to site see. He's a clone.

From Allen:

Why visit other schools if you're committed to cyclONEnation?

Why not travel the country meeting new people and seeing other places for free? Also i could possible influence prospects at other schools to switch.

That's great, he should take the visit. I feel good about him sticking with ISU and I imagine CPR is encouraging him to take the visit. If he is a lock for us, why wouldn't we? He can go and get a look at everything and come back and tell us how Oregon is approaching the recruiting process. Basically a free scout of the competition's recruiting process, and one of the best on top of that.

There's literally zero point in getting worked up about him staying or going. It's totally out of our hands. Keep in mind that he has his dad watching over him through the entire process. He'll help keep Allen "in line" as far as the whole recruiting process goes. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Lazard sounds like a real class act - a good guy - and we should want him for that as well as his football prowess. But he's a young man with his whole life ahead of him and I can't even fathom being an 18 year old in this position.

I believe he tweet about every offer he gets as well. I can't remember what the last was.

He does tweet the offers. They bleeds cardinal & gold but is not being stupid about the recruiting. He's very open about the process and plans on taking multiple visits yet. I remember him mentioning wanting to visit the west coast, etc. I can't blame him for wanting to take advantage of the opportunity that he has in front of him (the visits, the schwag, etc) but I still think he signs with the good guys.

I think its pretty important the team does well this fall... Lazard is not burning any bridges in case we lay an egg and only win a few games.

Like what Jake Campos did

Rather than insert my own imaginings and fears about what another person might or might not do, I'll take that person at his word, unless I discover his word is not worth taking.

AL says he is All In, a Cyclone to the bone. I trust his word. Period.

I know someone who took an official visit to the U with no intention of ever playing for the Canes. Why? Cuz it's MIAMI, duh!

Could happen but I don't think it will. I have followed ISU and Michigan recruiting for awhile now and there isn't really a way to tell if a guy may switch this early. What I can say, though, is that guys who commit this early and then go into recruiting their own class like Lazard has, don't switch. That's coming from the Michigan side because, let's face it, they have more history with recruits of his caliber committing early. I honestly can't think of one who was as pumped publicly as Lazard is who didn't stay committed. The ones that leave are the ones who don't really say much. That's not saying Lazard can't go but I think it would take a poor year for ISU offensively along with some other things. He's a legacy, and he committed early. That's hard for others to overcome.

No, that isn't it.

He's rock solid and won't change. Do any of you realize that if he wasn't solid with ISU, he wouldn't have committed as early as he did? His dad played here, his brother is on the team. He lives 35 minutes away.

Check his twitter feed out sometime. He tweets with guys on the football and basketball team. Constantly talks about ISU.

If that isn't enough to convince you, nothing will be and you should just keep it to yourself.
