I'm sure once the "new" wore off of Griner on the Mavs, he'd find a "dating" angle with her. Probably have a reality show in there someplace as well.

He could create a reality show where contestants get to go through a series of basketball and physical challenges against Griner. And in the season ending the winners who make it to the end gets to take a look below and finally tell the world if it is a he or she. I would watch that.

I would be curious to see how she fares.

Honestly she would get destroyed. The difference in athleticism between her and NBA players that are her height is huge. Just consider she is essentially the same height as Lebron James.

She is also 2 inches shorter than Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin who are crazy athletic. As others have said Griner probably couldn't start for a lot of D3 teams and I know she would never see the floor for even a below average D2 team.

She would get destroyed. Though I have no doubt she'll dominate the WNBA (if that league is still around...)

I can see Cuban actually trying this and actually putting her on the floor, but I hope she doesn't for her own safety. Can you imagine her trying to block a dunk from Lebron or Griffin? Or if one of one of the 280+ lb. guys fell on her. She could die!

Guys, did you hear she dunked the ball?

When the fact you dunked the ball is national news, its probably a good bet you cant make it in the NBA. She is by far one of the best women players in college history, but she wouldnt even be D league material, Mark Cuban is a genius, if he ever drafted her it would be for the publicity, which would be huge, biggest story from draft, and would be in the national media all off season long.

When I think about her, she would go up against a Scottie Pippen/LeBron James/Dominique Wilkens/Dr. J/Larry Bird sized guys.
She would get destroyed.
If a woman would have a shot at the NBA, I think it would have to be someone who can really dribble and shoot. Could Cheryle Miller have done it?

She wouldn't be the first woman drafted. As I recall, Denise Long of Union-Whitten was drafted many years ago - also as a publicity stunt. Although that was when there were many more rounds to the draft.

its not just the ball skills though. Could cheryl Miller run a 4.3 40? could she jump high enough to block a shot they took, was she strong enough not to get bowled over?

If a female ever legitimately plays decent minutes in the NBA it'll be a bulky female guard with a handle and passing skills like Tinsley. Would probably have to develop more on the streets than in NCAA game.

Not even then, way too slow to compete. It would be a complete farce.

i mean, its the NBA, Muggsy Bogues is 5'-3" and dunked in an NBA game. You think a 6'-8" girl who made news for dunking 18 times in her college career can make it against these kind of athletes?

Have you seen Tinsley play lately? He's pretty slow and still cashing a check. Wasn't saying it's likely, just more likely than a player like Griner. Not a big womens hoops fan but that guard for Notre Dame would do better against top men opponents than Griner.

would be a nice payday for her but i can imagine the rest of the mavericks may not appreciate it. can she use the same locker room or will she have to change in the women's bathroom stall?

Ya he looks slow in the NBA. Tinsley would be a blur if he was playing against women. Women aren't even close to being competive with men right now. There's a reason D1 WBB teams play against a scout team full of your everyday male rec players.

There is no doubt this is nothing more than a publicity stunt. I don't even think the most passionate supporter of women's basketball would suggest BG could make it in the NBA. Just look at how many physically talented players can't make it in the league. Just yesterday, a certain poster was mocking Booker hiring an agent, suggesting he could never make it in the NBA, and he is 6'10" and built like a truck.

Long story short, there is no shortage of 6'8" forwards out there who want to play in the NBA and have twice BG's athleticism and strength.
