Richardson completed 68% of his passes for 243 yards, 2 TD, and zero INT. QBR of 164.3 - pretty hard to blame him for this loss.

I got through four pages of this thread. I did not get a chance to watch the game (couldn't), but my thought is this:

....Jesus, was it really THAT bad?
Just consider yourself one of the lucky ones that didn't have to watch that ****. It's one thing to lose to an FCS school, it's another to get physically dominated in so many different aspects.

Something feels different about this. There is a finality about it. Like the universe realized except for a few very brief moments, it really is impossible to win at ISU.

In one day I went from cautious optimism about the future, to thinking this whole thing might just blow up for good and send us back to a permanent state of 1985.
Oh... So it wasn't just me???

IMO, Richardsons first three quarters were the best 3 quarters we've have from a QB the last three years. The fourth quarter he just sucked.

7 points a quarter is not nearly good enough. And apparently you didn't watch Steele Jantz against Iowa 2 years ago.

Sam looked good...a few times the pocket collapsed or he ran around more and could have thrown it out of bounds. I think our old "bend, don't break" defense is bending and cracking/breaking.

I still would like to see more mid/deep balls thrown.

I thought the Tech loss last year was worse than this IMO

CPR has too much trust in his kickers. No excuse in the world to let one of our guys try a 54 yarder when it's 4th and 5 relatively early in the game. I wouldn't have tried the first one tbh.

I still see this team being 2-1 headed into the Texas game. Not giving up total hope yet. You can't sweep the non-conference every year.

Oh and Messingham is a disaster.

1. First three quarters, Richardson did everything he was allowed to do.

2. Yes, I did watch Steele Jantz against Iowa two years ago. He didn't have a solid first three quarters, he just pulled crazy plays out of his *** every so often.

Shatter is the word I would use.

Mess just needs to go. Sturdy, who has OC experience, or Klenakis, OC at Nevada during Pistol heyday, needs to be calling the plays.

100% Yes yes, and yes.

UNI absolutely tore apart ISU's defense the ENTIRE first half. Made it look really, really easy.

ISU's offense was mediocre at best. It's nice to have a quarterback that can actually, you know, complete some passes, but with a line this bad and typically bad play calling, not a whole lot is going to happen. Now, Richardson had some poor moments, too, but they weren't necessarily concerning. A missed read here or there, and a spot or two where it was better to throw the ball away when he didn't.

I found myself longing for UNI's offense, but I'm not sure if it's their coaches or ISU's defense is just that bad.

This didn't have the feel of "one bad game". This had the feel of completely outmatched, out-talented, out-prepared, out-coached; Season over.

Messinham could be the downfall of PR if he sticks with him past this year.
I would go so far as to suggest PR jump out in front of this thing and get rid of Mess SOON! I think he takes less heat if he just admits he picked the wrong guy now and sends him packing. Experiment with the rest of the season cuz it cant be worse.
