I just remembered that I went to the Liberty Bowl last year. So those are our last two games -- beat downs at the hands of Tulsa and UNI. Think about that.

We will see a much improved team against Iowa. The coaches will be chewing *** all week. They have film to identify and correct mistakes. Just when we are ready to write them off, they pull one out of their ***. Who knows - we may even win against Iowa.

Last thing I am going to say about Messingham. I thought it was weird when Hermann announced he was leaving and Rhoads let him call the bowl game, especially if you were going to give the job to someone on staff. Why not let him call bowl as an audition? It was like he never had confidence in Mess but now his pride won't let him say it was wrong.

Then again, what the hell do I know?

Good news: Don't have to worry about saving PTO/money for a bowl trip.

Bad news: Still have to watch this team play conference foes.

Yeesh.

SR led with solo/assisted/total tackles with 10/3/13.

Looks like our backfield did all the tacking.

I haven't seen a defense that bad since chizik left town...

This is what I kept thinking all game long. It was like deja vu. Missed tackles all over the place, LB's not able to stay in front of receivers in the middle of the field, corners playing 10 yards off FREAKING UNI RECEIVERS, etc. etc. Just an all-around awful game. Seemed like they woke up a little bit after halftime but by then it was far too late. Hopefully they'll be motivated to not get embarrassed like that again this season.

You know you are bad when half the posts are ripping the defense and half the posts are ripping the offense. Wish it was just one that was bad tonight.

Exactly. I knew the D was going to be bad. The O was suppose to make up for it (I don't know why I thought this). Just depends on where your expectations were.

If I didn't know better, and I probably don't, I would say it's a conspiracy.

I think at least we know the offense can be fixed, plus losing Farniok hurt real bad..the defense on the other hand could be in for a very long year. This team surrounded ITSELF with a lot of hype and they have already failed to live up to it. It's a damn good thing those bye weeks are where they are, because this team has a lot of learning to do.

Saw a few highlights on the Big 12 Review....

......ok, I guess it was THAT bad.

Ubben doing commentary is making my ears bleed like the lamb that was sacrificed in my mind.
