Whew, I can handle the misery no longer. Love all of you, even the ones who don't agree with me. Hell, it's like family being a Cyclone, if nothing else, who else do you give so much money to and yet have them **** all over you. I've got to call it a night before everyone hates me.

This sucks, but we all wake up tomorrow safe and happy and live another day.

I'm out for tonight.

Hmm... most everything has been covered but man it was like the team was so lost they just gave up. They were gift wrapped a fumble at the one with a chance to drive and were not even in a hurry. I still think most groups played ok. We have a serious prob at LB but I thought the lines played ok. Blitzes have to be covered by the scheme to get quick plays out and we just had nothing. We got blitzed repeatedly on Off and played about as soft on D as possible. Stop freaking playing scared.

This is what I kept thinking all game long. It was like deja vu. Missed tackles all over the place, LB's not able to stay in front of receivers in the middle of the field, corners playing 10 yards off FREAKING UNI RECEIVERS, etc. etc. Just an all-around awful game. Seemed like they woke up a little bit after halftime but by then it was far too late. Hopefully they'll be motivated to not get embarrassed like that again this season.
Then the playcaller went to sleep in the second half....

Since this is a meltdown thread...

I think tonight marked the ends of the "honeymoon" with Paul Rhoads. Up to now, a lot of Cyclone fans would defend Rhoads no matter what he did or what the results were. Now, I get the sense that may be over, and he will be treated as a coach should be treated - judged on how well the program moves forward, how many wins it racks up, and the results it produces.

It's Year 5 of the Rhoads tenure and we just lost to an FCS team.

I'm not saying "Fire Rhoads" or even that Rhoads is on the hot seat. Just that he now may be judged by his fanbase like most other coaches in this business are. The honeymoon is over.

If nothin has changed in the 9 months since Tulsa then how are things gonna change in the next two weeks. Hawks are gonna roll us.

The Hawks aren't any good, either, but I have no reason to think ISU will win at this point.

Getting a win this season may depend on just how bad Kansas is.

By the way, when in God's name will they stop playing Sweet Caroline before the 4th quarter when ISU is losing?

You know, I have the same feeling. I am not even panicked, or upset, I just feel like something changed, and not for the better.

This! Same vibe here too.

Plus two other things: HAS ANYONE EVER seen us just running/jogging out of the locker room sort of in various groups, without music or the PA announcer getting the crowd fired up, for the start of the second half?

Second, how weird was the crowd tonight? Not a lot to cheer about I know, but sitting low on the east side there were multiple times I could hear individual people talking on the west side. Maybe it was just my section...

Just watched the CPR interview. I agree.. something is off. He doesn't seem to have a fire in his voice. I can't put my finger on it, but the team seems to be in a daze.

These are very important posts. The honeymoon is over... hiring Mess was a massive mistake, one I hope is taken care of before the next game. Any way we can have a vote of no confidence? Offense has been **** poor under CPR. Wally the Wizard has been able to cover a lot of that up, not gonna happen this year.

This season is over, this is not hyperbole. Wasn't UNI replacing 3 starters on both lines?

I lay in bed exhausted and I can't get this game out of my head. I am tired of this it is the same crap every game. I don't care if the team is young, that team was not prepared to play tonight, and that goes on the coaching staff. CPR is a great motivator play calling, recruiting, and overall staff management is horrible. I think CPR has done a great job getting this program built. I just don't see him being the long term solution. Motivation can only get you so far.
