Amen. i saw 3-4 wins tops when the schedule came out. This performance right here is why i was ******* shocked people were predicting 6,7,8 wins this year.
Then the playcaller went to sleep in the second half....This is what I kept thinking all game long. It was like deja vu. Missed tackles all over the place, LB's not able to stay in front of receivers in the middle of the field, corners playing 10 yards off FREAKING UNI RECEIVERS, etc. etc. Just an all-around awful game. Seemed like they woke up a little bit after halftime but by then it was far too late. Hopefully they'll be motivated to not get embarrassed like that again this season.
After the Iowa game then? We just gave the gum chewer hope tonight for his job.I'll tell you what, there are very beatable teams the conference this year. I wouldn't push the panic button .....yet.
There was more panic on this thread tonight (myself included) than there was aboard the Titanic on that fateful night.I'll tell you what, there are very beatable teams the conference this year. I wouldn't push the panic button .....yet.
If nothin has changed in the 9 months since Tulsa then how are things gonna change in the next two weeks. Hawks are gonna roll us.
You know, I have the same feeling. I am not even panicked, or upset, I just feel like something changed, and not for the better.
Since this is a meltdown thread...
I think tonight marked the ends of the "honeymoon" with Paul Rhoads. Up to now, a lot of Cyclone fans would defend Rhoads no matter what he did or what the results were. Now, I get the sense that may be over, and he will be treated as a coach should be treated - judged on how well the program moves forward, how many wins it racks up, and the results it produces.
It's Year 5 of the Rhoads tenure and we just lost to an FCS team.
I'm not saying "Fire Rhoads" or even that Rhoads is on the hot seat. Just that he now may be judged by his fanbase like most other coaches in this business are. The honeymoon is over.
