This needs to not happen right before they play us. This needs to happen right after they play us.

"Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds will announce Tuesday afternoon that he will step down next August after32 years in the position.
Under Dodds' time, the school has soared into national prominence. Dodds hired Mack Brown and Augie Garrido who produced
one football and two baseball national championships. "

Sounds like underachieving if you ask me.

I don't think it is in the mindset of UT player's to rally. More like shrug and go turtle, so I don't think this should worry anyone.

For Texas being Texas it really is. Apparently this is what $130 million plus buys ya.

Does this new uncertainty create enough of a distraction to help at all on Thursday? I mean, who believes that Mack has any job security without Dodds?

I think it's fairly clear the odds are more likely for Bowlsby to be angling for the top dog position in the new football organization that replaces the NCAA, not going back down to AD Texas.

He already put in his tour of duty at maybe THE premier athletic department in Stanford.

At least, that's where I would bet my money.

agreed. You don't get a better AD job than Stanford, who they should rename the Directors Cup the Stanford Cup since they win it every year.

My guess is that Texas buys out David Shaw’s contract at Stanford and brings him over.

Interesting tweet from Bruce Feldman.. A USC source him the reason they fired Kiffin Sunday because it would "give them a two month jump" on Texas in looking for a new head coach.

The Longhorn ship be sinkin'..

I don't see this as a good thing at all. Honestly, given their resources UT has been underachieving big time in football and MBB. If they make the right changes that will likely take W's away from ISU programs going forward. I want to see Dodds, Mack, and Barnes around for years to come.

Good strategy knowing that Texas won't fire....errr say happy retirement to Mack until end of the year.
