Well, the jokes on him because I'm guessing those schools saw this for the petty bull crap that it is. Besides, I'm guessing the security will be extremely tight for the next couple of years.
The recipients of the calls probably laughed at the immaturity of the Iowa Athletic Department and finished what they were working on.
Haha ohh come on now... Maybe Pollard decided to put up a billboard in Cedar Rapids to "please" Eastern Iowa Cyclone fans. However you can not seriously tell me he didn't get at least a little bit of a kick out of putting the slogan "It's a Cyclone State" on a billboard placed directly in the U of I's stomping grounds.
There is so much bias in this thread it's comical. If the roles were reversed there's just no way Pollard would do something like this! He has too much class! Haha ya okay... you guys talk about Pollard like he's your Grandfather and you know him so well. He is the same guy who got ejected from his son's high school basketball game for criticizing the refs. I'm not berating him for that as I've been known to raise my voice during my little brothers high school games, but it's not like Pollard is an angel. Take off the blinders. You can say whatever you want to say to make yourselves feel better, but if the roles were reversed I guarantee you 99% of the Cy fans whining is this thread would find it hilarious that ISU took a jab at Iowa. Don't be so foolish. At least there are a few posters in here with the ability to have some perspective. Iowa is trolling the Clones hard on this one.
This kind of stuff is why you should never root for the Hawkeyes, unless perhaps they are playing Penn St.

Petty, immature, adolescent...the list of words to describe Federici's actions could go on.
Despite that, I still find this incident embarrassing and inexcusable. Hawks or not, they were our guests. What happened was bush league and unless it is determined someone from the U of I contingent is responsible we deserve every bit of ridicule we get from it.
If you want to get even with the hoks just tell em that we will only play football(vs eiu) in JTS and never play in Kinnick...That will get their attention.....
Now who's bias? Honestly, I would be 100% Embarrassed if anyone from ISU contacted other schools warning them of security for an issue like this. It was a mistake, things happen and there still is no proof who did it. Meaning an UofI staffer could be as guilty as anyone else at the stadium that day. It was an unprofessional move by Iowa to allow this guy to do what he did. Iowa State is handling the matter.
Should this have happened? No.
Is there proof yet it was ISU's fault? No.
If it was ISU's fault are they taking the necessary steps to make sure it doesn't happen again? Sounds like it.
Because ISU is taking steps to improve security, is there a good reason to call other schools coming to Ames and tell them how ****** the school is? No.
OK...this is a contradiction...why would you or anyone else (including U of I) label it in those terms until we DO know who is responsible? Bottom line: Federici and Iowa think we can't handle security (and dismiss our increased measures to this), and want to slander ISU in our own conference. It's pathetic.Petty, immature, adolescent...the list of words to describe Federici's actions could go on.

First, you can say all you want that you would be embarrassed if your school did this to another school, but until you're put in that situation you have no idea. If ISU did this to Iowa in particular I have a strong feeling many of you would think it is funny. Again, no one will admit that but it's true.
Am I proud that the U of I called these other schools to warn them about the lack of security at ISU? No I'm not proud of it. Am I embarrassed? No, I'm not embarrassed in the least bit. In fact, I think it's kinda funny, but that's only because it's ISU. If it was a non-rival school I would think less of it. The U of I almost NEVER goes out of their way to jab ISU like Pollard occasionally does to Iowa so in this case I'm glad they finally pushed back a little.
Second, you make the comment that "mistakes happen". It was just a mistake... Well it's a pretty freaking ridiculous mistake to have over $2,000 worth of stuff stolen from the visitors locker room at the D1 level of football. This is a major stadium with two major Universities involved. It's not like their team bus was parked out in the parking lot and stuff got jacked from it. The fact ISU failed to have the proper security in place to prevent something like this is the only thing out of all of this nonsense that can be considered unprofessional. Plus, if Iowa State failed to maintain adequate security during the Iowa game then why is it so unfair for the University of Iowa to give a shout out to other schools who will be visiting Jack Trice simply to warn them that this took place? Is it not possible that the perp could be a member of the very security team that was in charge of keeping people out of the locker room? Is it not possible that the perp could be someone who has access? No one has been detained so if those things are possible then it's also possible this perp could still be within reach of the visitors locker room!
