I think this is common knowledge but verification that the UNC tweeter was inaccurate, Vaughn will be announcing in the spring.

Rashad Vaughn is still planning on signing in the spring, not the fall, despite reports to the contrary, Findlay Prep assistant coach Pete Kaffey told SNY.tv.“No, that’s not true,” Kaffey said of a potential fall commitment and signing.
The 6-foot-5 shooting guard will take his first official visit to Iowa State (Nov. 17) before going to UNLV (Nov. 25).
The early signing period runs Nov. 13-20.
Vaughn is also considering Baylor, Kansas, Arizona, North Carolina and Minnesota.
“He’s still considering every school that’s on his list of seven,” Kaffey said.
“We aren’t worried about colleges right now. We’re just trying to focus on the season.”
In his first game at Findlay Prep, Vaughn went for 23 points, six rebounds and four assists, making 6-of-8 from the arc.

Why do I cringe when I have to read Baylor and Kansas on that list again? I'm realistic enough to know we could come out as the non-choice here, or be the choice. But having to play him 3 times a year vs. a conference foe would suck after all this hype and recruitiment. Guess it wouldn't be the first time, nor will it be the last.

I saw this. Guess it could be looked on two ways.

Even with UNLV's lack of exposure and nightly competition in the MWC. The Rebels are a national program that scouts watch and even with a lack of weekly competion can get players to be the top pick in the NBA Draft. AB's lack of early sucess is on him and doesn't represent UNLV now. Anthony will improve as he matures.

Bennett was a probably top ten pick before he went to college due to potential, thus his choice was rather acedemic. He wasn't coached as well as he could have been for the NBA last year at UNLV, and the lack of top completition every night in the MWC didn't prepare him to step in day one for the League.
CFH knows what it takes, especially for a shooter, to get him into the league and prepared for a impactful early career in the NBA.

I haven't heard from his people, but I'm hearing things from his peoples people. But not necessarily the most reliable sources so I'm going to stay hush hush on it.

However, I will say that I've heard from many people (outside the twitterverse) that there's a good chance he's committed to a school by Christmas.

So my earlier statement of "Although he may not be signing until the spring, that doesn't mean he isn't committing before the spring either..." holds true if you're being told correct information. (thread post #4082)

I do hope he chooses an earlier commitment date than say, Andrew Wiggins. AW signed so late in the 2013 spring that the schools he didn't choose essentially had no back-up plan. I would like to see RV's choice be made so if it isn't ISU, we can move on to plan B and fill up that scholarship we're keeping open for him.

Yup. My sources are correct 60% of the time, so I'm not going to say anything is going to happen for sure.

And I agree with you completely. It sucks for schools that thought Wiggins might be coming there, because how do you replace the #1 recruit in the nation, especially when he's one of the last top 100 players to choose?

If he told me it was going to be ISU, I keep it hush hush. If he told me some other team, I try and find a way to leak it out so that maybe, he get's ticked that it's out there and he didn't get to announce it and maybe he changes his mind to a different school. Devious? - Yes, but I want the guy to be a Clone.

He told me the favorite, but not the final decision. I'm not going to **** things up like I did Hoiberg to Minnesota so I'm keeping it on the DL for now until I can get other people to conform this though. But it's good news.
