Duke. KU will take time to gel and Duke typcially plays like a well oiled machine early on even when they are young.

Does that logic hold with regards to Iowa as well?

In general, no. We have legit year in year out (lately) shot of being a top 25 team in basketball. Not the case in football. In football all we care about is hitting the 6 win mark so It doesnt matter who our opponents play or lose to. Plus the majority of us dont live near a jayhawk fan.

But using your logic we should still want Iowa to do well in basketball. Which is obviously not true for most people on this board. I have no problem cheering against Kansas. We don't need them to be good to get into the tournament, them having a bad year makes it easier for us to win a big 12 title, and I enjoy watching Kansas' basketball team lose.

Some of you are so butt hurt about last year. Think about the decades of history between KU and ISU. And then think about what actually happened last year, all this hate is completely unwarranted. Especially carrying over into the next season.

Those decades of history between ISU and KU (last year included) is precisely why I hate KU.

When has KU had to take time to gel in the past before? They always have turnover every year with graduation/NBA. They will be a better team at the end of the season but most teams are.

I still think Duke wins but Self will have KU ready to go

No, they don't usually have this many new starters who are also new to the program.

Maybe that's you, but a majority of the people that I've heard bash on KU are referencing last year as the primary source of hatred. For example "After what happened last year, I will root for armageddon before I root for KU". They act like KU just ****ed their wife or something.

I get that, just think we have to watch and see how they play before we determine that they need time to gel. Kentucky has a new roster every year and until last year they always started and finished hot. Just because it takes us time to gel and get things going doesn't mean it will for every other team, especially a blue blood.

Are there Vegas odds on the chance of Bill Self and Coach K duking it out at mid court? Thats the only thing I'm interested in betting on.

Ditto. I'll stop wanting Lawrence to completely burn to the ground the minute another team hits a dead ball 3 pointer on the JHawks. I hate them more then any other team in sports.
